Almost Irish consists of the two brothers Rasmus and Alexander Munk Nielsen. Since 2002 we've been playing our almost irish folkmusic all over Denmark and parts of Norhtern Germany and Ireland as well. Both of us is from Denmark so of course it can never be truly Irish, we just simply named the whole thing Almost Irish. We have another brother Lukas who plays the fiddle and the bodhran and he sometimes joins us on stage along with our good companion and friend Allan Bech on guitar. But most of the times it's just the two of us as a duo. We first got the interest in Irish music from our parents and later on it was all powered up by the important influence of Denis McLaughlin who eventually became our music teacher. That's a good couple of years ago and since then we've been on our own. We've spend our time playing as much as ever possible, travelling (yet playing) and we keep widening our horizons learning new song and tunes. In February 2006 we launched our first album called The Private Session. We made 500 copies and sold the whole lot before the years was ended. But since we're a young developing band the music changes quite fast. Styles and influences change a lot in the early years so we are planning to make a new album by summer 2007 to catch up with the new songs and sounds.
