Please check out Madison Park's music video called SAVING OPUS ONE (above). It's a song dedicated to a pig named Opus One and the billions of other factory farm animals just like him. The video is not graphic, but it will stir your emotions when you see how factory farm animals live. My profile is dedicated to factory farm animals everywhere.I am a nature and animal loving pagan. I live a contemplative life in an old stone mill surrounded by water, wildlife and sacred trees. I weave the natural enchantments into my daily life and I am always seeking to deepen my connection to the universe. My life mirrors my beliefs and my passions. Those who have known me most of my life have always been aware of my deep commitment to principles I hold dear to my heart, even if it means getting into a little trouble. John Robbins once said, "We can't always be liked, but we can always be true."I love animals and protect the wildlife from those who seek to harm them. Pagans have a natural affinity to nature and understand the connection between all life, including non-human animals. Being vegan allows me to honor my personal and spiritual beliefs and to show compassion for all sentient creatures. Living in PA has made me painfully aware of the hidden life of factory farm animals. Factory farm animals live an incredibly sad, painful, and miserable life and it ends with a horrific death. The animals desperately need people to act on their behalf. Please check out the profiles of the various animal group friends on my page. There are many videos that show the ongoing torture of animals around the world and ways you can help stop the torture. Many people say they can't view the videos because it is hard to watch. IT IS HARD TO WATCH, BUT IT IS THE REALITY FOR THE ANIMALS!!!! The animals are suffering for food, clothing, entertainment, medical experimentation, and for CORPORATE GREED!!! The industries that torture animals don't view them as sentient beings, they view them as property and mere products. They don't think or care about the pain inflicted on non-human animals. If you eat meat, eggs or dairy products, you are supporting the suffering of animals, WHETHER YOU WANT TO ADMIT IT OR NOT. The next time you are eating animal products, think about this quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson," You have just dined, and however scrupulous the slaughterhouse is concealed to the graceful distance of miles, there is complicity." If you make the decision to leave meat off your plate or reduce your consumption of meat, it will make a difference for the animals, your health and the environment!!! Jeremy Bentham posed this moral question: THE QUESTION IS NOT "CAN THEY REASON?" NOR "CAN THEY TALK?" BUT "CAN THEY SUFFER?"I have visited a number of factory farms and it makes me wonder how someone can raise animals in this way and not be touched emotionally by the endless suffering of the animals they raise. I support peaceful, non-violent means to save animals, but many times more direct action is needed. The ALF, Sea Shepherds, Open Rescue, Animal's Angels and individuals throughout the world do an outstanding job in the cause to save animals! They risk their own lives and personal freedom to save the animals from gruesome situations. It is unfortunate our government is trying to stifle the rights of those who want to protect the environment and end of the suffering of animals, especially factory farm animals. In 2006, Congress passed HR 4239---The Animal Enterprise Terrorist Act. Now, animal rights activists and environmentalists can be charged as terrorists if their activism leads to corporate interests losing revenue. The real loss is our freedom of dissent and our freedom to question our government/corporate motivations. The welfare of people, animals and the environment don't matter when there is money to be made. Still, there are those who will continue to defend the rights of the non-human animals. There comes a point in one's life when we begin to think of others and their plight and then we must do something to make change. You can do your part by making the decision to go vegetarian or bet yet, vegan.href="http://www.msplinks.com/MDFodHRwOi8vd3d3LnBpbXAt bXktcHJvZmlsZS5jb20v"

BUDDHIST PRAYER FOR FACTORY FARM ANIMALS

My Interests

Animal activism, vegan cooking, reading, solitary time in the woods and creek, meditating near the creek and at my special trees, exploring new places, blowing bubbles, sharing bubbles with crying or upset children, wearing bells and long flowing skirts (especially in the water), civil disobedience, spiritual "dancing", playing my djembe drum, sharing life with special people and animals, native plant gardening, moonlight walks, communicating with the great-horned owl and searching for........

I'd like to meet:

people of various life/spiritual paths, fellow pagans, activists (animal rights, environmental, social, political), nature lovers, musicians, poets, vegans/vegetarians, and those who are seeking to live an authentic, conscious and peaceful life with eyes open to infinite possibilities.

Music:

THE DRAGON RITUAL DRUMMERS WILL BE PERFORMING AT THE 2008 SPOUTWOOD FARM FAIRIE FESTIVAL IN GLEN ROCK, PA!!!!!My musical tastes vary depending on what I am feeling and doing. I love Wendy Rule, Dragon Ritual Drummers, Angel Blood, Enrico Nascimbeni, Spook Handy, trance, classical, folk and music written and composed by friends.

Television:

I would like to thank my friend Tia for creating this video for the cows who suffer so people can eat their flesh. Seeing this video (not graphic, but sad) reminded me of the time I spent with cows at a truck rest stop. The driver was sleeping peacefully and didn't even know I was there. The cows were fearful and in distress. I will NEVER forget their eyes! I was so sad because I could not help them. I didn't have a transport vehicle or a special farm where they could be taken to live their days in peace. The driver was surprised to see me (it was during the night) and he told me the story of the cows. They were involved in a traffic incident and had to be reloaded onto his slaughter truck. No food or water was provided! I asked the driver if he gave them food and water and he said yes, but when I asked for proof, he couldn't provide it. He can rest, drink and eat on the journey to the slaughterhouse, but not the animals. Imagine, a full day of hell for these cows and they were being driven to the slaughterhouse during the night when most people would not notice them. Their nightmare would continue upon arrival at the slaughterhouse in Fairfield. I hope those who see this video will see cows, not beef. They are cows who want to live and love, just as we do. Remember, even humanely raised farm animals and free range animals end up at the same slaughterhouses as factory farm animals. They sense their death and seek to avoid their fate, just as any living being would if placed in the same situation.

Heroes:

I admire anyone who does the little things to make life easier for others. I especially admire those who expose the animal suffering that takes place in factory farms, puppy mills, fur farms, and scientific laboratories , those who risk death and freedom to rescue animals from their dismal existence, those who protect rights for children to live in a peaceful world, environmentalists, independent journalists, those who are trying to protect our right to free speech and dissent in our country!!! DISSENT PROTECTS DEMOCRACY!!!!!!
