SWITCH was formed almost 4 years ago in May 2003, making it one of Birmingham's longest running & most successful AfterPartys. In the early days it was an in-house promotion on a Friday night, for the legendary Night Club RADIUS. However, it soon became a major part of the Birmingham nightclub circuit, a must go for West Midland's clubbers.
The founder owners of RADIUS and SWITCH were Dave Rogers, Nick Tennent, and Milan. Dave Rogers was the main driving force in the promotion, with the help of Alex Schmitz from the very beginning and later Jay-Dee Thomas, to name but a few pushing SWITCH in the direction you now find it in. SWITCH started out playing a fusion of uplifting Funky House and Deep Chunky Baseline House music! And really was at the forefront of Birminghams House scene.Over the last 4 years it has grown into what we now love SWITCH to be, playing Sexy, Dirty, Funky, Jacking, Electro, House Music, whilst continuing to change and develop its music genre, always striving for excellence, and pushing the scene forward.
In February 2006 Radius closed its doors, forcing SWITCH to move to the Moonlounge, already a favourite hot spot with Birmingham's after party scene (it was once home to MUD!)
You can catch SWITCH at the MOONLOUNGE every Friday night with Birmingham's most Elite DJs on rotation from 2:30am to 6:30am. SWITCH continues to be one of Birmingham's finest nights out, and make no mistake, for that, you the public deserve a large part of the credit.
