Dove Award-winning, Songwriter Kim McLean (the artist formerly known as Kim Patton-Johnston) is the founder of Hippie Chick Twang...she's a hippie, a chick and she's definitely got some twang, evidenced by hit songs with Lee Ann Womack, Wynonna, Billy Gilman, Trisha Yearwood, Tim McGraw, Lorrie Morgan and many others. Kim has also produced cuts and developed artists for Capitol, Sony/Columbia, Warner Brothers and several independent labels.
Mane Event began working with Kim in 2006 to help promote her songwriter series at Borders Books, Nashville, as well as Mercy Monday, which showcased the best of HCT at Mercy Lounge.
Among the artists featured in the series thus far have been Eve Selis, Karen Taylor-Good, Lani Nash, Sonia Lee, Kimber Manning, Mark Elliot, Robin English, Joey Martin, Tia McGraff, Suzanna Spring and many others.
"I think that the name of the series has influenced its predominantly female artist lineup; however, the series is truly open to everyone regardless of accomplishment, genre or, yes, even gender. Our own Local Hero Series has featured artists such as Steve Nelson, Michael Kelsh, Dustin Overbeek, Jill Paquette, Sally Barris and others, and I think we'll see a natural blending of artists in 2007, drawing from our combined areas of influence." (Robert DeGraw, ME)
If you are a Performing Songwriter and you would like to participate in the series, please contact ME.
Mane Event will be there to support the Freedom Press stage - hope to see you there.
THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT EVERYONE - WE RAISED OVER $10,000!
12.24.06, THIS JUST IN: Suzanna Spring's song "Never Been Kissed" written for our Rose Charities fundraiser, is now available for download.
The song is featured at the Never Been Kissed web site and it was used in radio ads for the show. Suzanna also performed the song during the event with an allstar band, which featured hit Songwriter Kim McLean (keyboard), Radio DJ Devon O'Day (vocals), past and current members of The Cry Room, Carl Hofstrom (bass) and Aaron Esche (guitar), Singer-Songwriters, Rachel Pearl (vocals), Cathey Stamps (vocals) and Lani Nash (vocals), drummer Joey Morasse, and guitarist Shawn Byrne, who also appears on the studio recording of the song.
All profits from the sale of the song will go directly to support the good work of Rose Charities. Click here to download it now.
We're happy to be a part of the 4th Annual Independents for Independence, a concert promoted by our friend Billie Joyce, which benefits the YW Domestic Violence Center. Hope to see some of you there on Thursday, March 1st.

I'd like to meet:

May 1st, 2007. A 2,500km trek from Port Angeles to San Diego to benefit Rose Charities. Good luck DD! (Mane Event Productions is not a sponsor nor endorser of this event.)

Mane Event Productions has been supporting independent singer/songwriters and artists since 1988. We represent Suzanna Spring, The Cry Room, Cutthroat Junction and Anastasia, and we promote occasional shows of our own under the Local Hero moniker. We work in three primary areas; special event planning, management and concert promotion.

...just a heads up; if you send a comment and all you can say is "thanks for the add," then I may not approve it. Also, I have tried my best to listen to everyone's music before I approve their friend request, but this is now an impossible task, as I just get too many of them. Some folks have found clever ways to get my attention, and if you get that clever too, then I will give you a listen. I do want to know what you're doing, but there just aren't enough hours in the day.
Periodically, and as I find things that move me, I will "add" songs to my blog and page.
