Cary Whaley

Folk music with heavy starch

About Me

Cary Whaley is a singer/songwriter that falls into the musical bucket known as "contemporary folk." His songs address the perils of growing old, getting garbage time in baseball and dating mimes. His friends call his music, "folk, with heavy starch." Cary studies his craft by investing in the local music community. He’s the VP Planning and Development for Songwriter’s Association of Washington (SAW) and serves as a co-host for the Alexandria Open Mic (2nd Saturday at the Lab at Convergence). Occasionally, Cary will play for coffee and tips. He’s never dated a mime.
