How can you expect to prove to your friends that you have respectable and intelligent film tastes if you haven't even seen the hottest Japanese DVD of the year? Here's what some reviewers are saying about the new Miike masterpiece:
“…Big Bang Love, Juvenile A is easily Miike’s best work, seeing him at his most artistic, mature, and inspired.“ "AnimEigo’s release of Big Bang Love, Juvenile A marks their best DVD offering yet…" -Chris Nelson, Dreamlogic.net
"Takashi Miike's most intimate and visually stunning work yet!" -Brian Harris, Wildsidecinema.com
"Big Bang Love, Juvenile A, a wonderful and mysterious film, may reveal a few new sides to Miike." -George Booker, Noripcord.com
"As always with AnimEigo, the DVD includes exceptional subtitling and video program notes to truly immerse you into the culture the film came from. The great thing about this movie, as in the work of Brecht, Pinter, Ionesco, and Beckett, is that it’s open for interpretation." -Ric Meyers, Comicmix.com

AnimEigo Fall 2007 / 2008 Release Schedule
Shinobi no Mono (10/2007) This is the film which launched the first Ninja boom in Japan after WWII, and stars Raizo Ichikawa, one of the biggest film stars in Japan film history. The producers enlisted the aid of the last “living Ninja master†as a consultant, so this film contains realistic Ninja techniques, details of Ninja society and the secrets of Ninja houses. A must-see film for real Ninja fans.
Battle of Okinawa (11/2007) In March 1945, the bloodiest battle of the Pacific War took place. Acclaimed director Kihachi Okamoto and an all-star cast and crew spared no effort to depict this massive battle from a variety of perspectives, mixing the horrors of war with black comedy. As with Okamoto's “Japan's Longest Dayâ€, this is a must-see WWII film.
The Mikogami Trilogy Box Set (12/2007) The wait is over, now these three bloody Yakuza action films will finally be available in a cool box set.
2008 Tentative schedule (One per month, Jan-Nov/2008)
Big Bang Love, Juvenile A (2006) The hottest Japanese Cult film Director, Takashi Miike, calls this film his “masterpiece!â€. A hit at numerous festivals including the Berlin International Film Festival and the NY Asian Film Festival.
Wakeful Nights (a.k.a. A Hardest Night!!) (2006)A classy and refined Japanese comedy set in the world of Rakugo (Japanese Comic Storytelling) -- or at least, it would be if it weren't full of the raunchiest jokes you've ever heard or seen. You'll never look at a Manta Ray the same way again, and you won't believe the Geisha Sex Song Contest.
Shinobi no mono 2
Shogun Assassin 4
The Wolves
Revenge of a Kabuki Actor (1963)(Yukinojyo Henge, An Actor's Revenge) Don't say you've seen enough beautiful Kon Ichikawa art films UNTIL you see this one. His unique camera/lighting work, dreamy Kimono beauties, and the usual all-star cast make this another must-see film for fans of the Master Director.
Shinobi no mono 3
Father of the Kamikaze (1974) (Aa Kessen Koukutai) This is the story of Admiral Onishi, known as the father of the Kamikaze missions -- and who, despite helping to plan the attack on Pearl Harbor, thought it was a mistake.
Shogun Assassin 5
The Ballad of Narayama (1983) (Narayama Bushiko) Winner of the Palme d'Or, Cannes Film Festival 1983; 8 other awards and 9 nominations. Directed by Shohei Imamura, 2-time Palme d'Or winner (Kurosawa won only once).
Shinobi no mono 4
And of course, sometime in the spring, we'll release Yawara! Season One!

The #1 complaint we've gotten about Shogun Assassin (the dubbed version of Lone Wolf & Cub) is that there's only two movies! Well, we listened to you, and have commissioned dubs of the final 3 LW&C films, to be released as Shogun Assassin 3, 4 and 5.
In Shogun Assassin III - Slashing Blades of Carnage, the Lone Wolf must track down a deadly (and usually naked, or at least, clothed only in full-body tattoos!) female assassin, while dealing with hordes of Yagyu assassins, and all the while honing his parenting skills!
If you've been getting that “Gee, I need some more blood and carnage†feeling, then check out Shogun Assassin III - Slashing Blades of Carnage! Now available!

We're happy to announce that the FREE Yawara Preview discs that lucky Comic-Con attendees found out about are now available! These discs contain not just excerpts, not just 1 episode, not even two, but the first 4 episodes of the series! And because so many people at Comic-Con were begging, nay, grovelling for extra copies, we've decided you can order up to 3 discs at a time (one for you, two more for family and friends).
Basically, the deal is this: if you order anything from us, you can add the preview disc(s) to your order at no additional charge; if all you want is the preview disc(s), there's a $5.00 S&H charge (we're crazy, but not insane).
For more information, an introduction to this wonderful series, and the all-important order button, check out our Yawara Preview Page!

Big Bang Love, Juvenile A
Inside a juvenile detention center, two young prisoners from vastly different backgrounds experience a bond that transcends their tormented pasts in this artistic crime drama which Takashi Miike has called "his masterpiece."
Wakeful Nights
A classy and refined Japanese comedy set in the world of Rakugo (Japanese Comic Storytelling) -- or at least, it would be if it weren't full of unbelievably raunchy jokes and stories! A dying patriarch's hilariously misunderstood final wishes set in motion a torrent of hysterical reminiscences as the remaining family members and apprentices celebrate the lives of the dead in a series of Wakeful Nights.
Shinobi no Mono 2
The cold-blooded conquerer Nobunaga Oda wiped out the Iga ninjas... or so he thinks. The last surviving Iga Ninja, Goemon Ishikawa, wishes only to live in peace with his wife and child. But fate has other plans for Goemon, and he must use every trick in his arsenal to vanquish the evil warlord who will stop at nothing in his quest to rule all of Japan!
Coming in June
Shogun Assassin 5
This is the final film of the mega-popular Shogun Assassin series, and the final confrontation between our hero Ogami Itto and the evil Retsudo. With most of his family already dead at Ogami’s hands, Retsudo launches one last plot to destroy him, and when that fails, he unleashes the fury of every remaining member of the Yagyu Clan. Attacked by hundreds of warriors, Ogami might be in a little over his head (and thus, lose it!) this time.
