Rachel Hawker is an exciting new artist surfacing from the Brighton Music Scene. The 20 year old singer/songwriter has been writing her own material since the age of 11, playing guitar since she was 8 and singing for as long as she can remember.
With a wide variety of musical influences Rachels style is unique. Powerful vocals juxtapositioned alongside sentive and inspired lyrical content. That, finished wit a sprinkling of attitude, is what gives Rachel's passionate and comitted performances the bite that leaves you wanting more.
Rachel had her first radio appearance at the tender age of 13 and then appeared on Spirit FM at the age of 15. After forming Rachel Hawker and The Remedies in 2004 the band have appeared on a number of radio stations for interviews and live acoustic sessions.
The band have also just released their NEW E.P 'Dirty Little Secrets' which is available to buy in most independent record stores across the south coast. Rachel Hawker and The Remedies have also toured across the south coast performing at some top venues and festivals to over an audience of 2000.
Rachel Hawker and The Remedies music has been described as:
'sprock' a healthy combo of rock and pop with a hint of soul and a KT Tunstall-in-it-for-the-music vibe - by Anna Hawes Photography
The Remedies
Kevin Rose - Lead Guitar and Backing Vocals
Session guitar player Kevin Rose has worked with Rachel before in the Chichester based band Halfway Home. He has also gained industry experience from musicians such as Guthrie Govan (Asia, Guitar Technique Magazines), Alex Dickson (Guitarist for Robbie Williams, Gun) Jon Stewart (Guitarist for 90's Britpop band Sleeper) and Julian Dean (Guitarist for Toploader)
Dan Chapman - Drums and Backing Vocals
Ex - Drummer of 'Mind Gap' and 'Random Heroes' Dan is one of the most new, exciting, young, drummers around. With a passion for rhythm he doesn't let anything hold him back!
Alex Rowley - Bass Guitarist and Backing Vocals
The subtleties of Alex's ability as a musician and the fantastic relationship with drummer Dan, who he has been playing with for years makes him one half of the rock solid rhythm section that just kicks ass!
