Hi, I am John, the grandson of famed, but tragic Greek poet Nick Lymberis. I have been told I share my Grandfather's poetic sensibilties, that they are inherent in my lyrics. I can only hope that is true. As for an "achingly beautiful voice recalling Jeff Buckley, Bono and Thom Yorke, with more than a dash of Jim Morrison thrown in?" All I can say is I am honored to be included in the same sentence with them. As for me playing more keyboards on stage. I do love to play. Thanks. We'll see what the future brings. Oh and it's true. I'm buying up all school tapes of me singing the part of Curly in the musical Oklahoma. (Please.)

THE ULTRA VIOLET, FORMERLY COMMON THRILL, WAS NAMED BY CLEAR CHANNEL RADIO, GARAGEBAND.COM, AND BILLBOARD MAGAZINE AS ONE OF THE TOP 16 UNSIGNED BANDS IN THE US TO WATCH FOR IN 2007!!
COMMON THRILL, is a five-piece Boston alt rock/experimental band that slyly twists the conventional boundaries of modern rock. Their single Morphine Drip has been played on WFNX (101.7) in Boston numerous times. Common Thrill is currently in the studio with famous producer Anthony J Resta (Collective Soul, Duran Duran, Letters to Cleo) working on their new EP.
They completed a CD in June 2004 that was produced by Radiohead's producer, Jim Warren ("The Bends", "I Might Be Wrong"). It was released in late November 2004. Common Thrill has a wide musical influence, such as Radiohead, Pink Floyd, AIR, Interpol and the Cars. John Courduvelis is the vocalist, whose rare and beautiful counter tenor voice often captures an audience with a single note like in "Morphine Drip" His rich falsetto notes cascade in mournful whispering brilliance on the first word "starless" and take us on an intoxicating voyage through the sad tune to a primal, but melodic, scream. It is flawless, executed in long clear agony. This sung scream is a tool he uses as effectively and beautifully as Jimmy Gnecco of "Ours" as John executes in the playfully dark tune, Pieces... Rich DeCaprioss brilliantly expressive guitar, synth, and sampling work creates atmosphere, ambience, and overall tone. Brian Fernald on guitar provides the soul, edge, and fire that blends with the latter. Mark Kelley's pulsing, melodic bass help create this psychadelic arrangement that has become a staple at the local Boston Clubs, such as The Lizard Lounge, T.T. the Bears, The Middle East, The Paradise Lounge and The Skybar. They continue to explore new means of making music original and fresh, rather than playing the mainstream trash that is force fed down listeners throats. While building a solid fan base, they have opened for such national acts as, CycleFly, PeeShy and 8 1/2 Souvenirs.
