a work in progress....

About Me

i'm the one you spot in the car next to you at the lights, singing and seat dancing to micheal jackson, the one who gets picked on at comedy nights because my laugh is so loud and distinctive and the one trying to not look like a lesbian but not quite succeeding - not thet there is anything wrong with looking like a lesbian, but it does confuse the guys i flirt with! i drive a diahutsu charade with 'eze' in the number plate that i call shazza - she is my bogan mingha alter ego. my mother was once mistaken for a transexual during mardi gras, which she is eternally proud of and my father stood for the senate in the last federal election for a *very* left wing party - can you imagine how i turned out?

My Interests

woodford folk festival - my second family :-). fire staff and poi spinning....needs more practice. i used to see a lot of great live comedy in melbourne (but i haven't seen much in the last 2 1/2 years since living in brisbane) some favourites include: justin hamilton, tanya losano, duff, cal wilson, scott brennan, kent valentine, sam bowring, sam simmons, kim hope, adam richard, micheal chamerlin, charlie pickering, mckenzie frenzy, janet mcloed, adrian callear, nelly thomas, scott pollard, toby sullivan, matt elsbury, elbow skin, andrew mclelland, laurence leung, alan glover,

I'd like to meet:

a man who has a car with a rad horn. i just want to go on one date where i'm picked up in one of those!

Music:

my music taste is decidedly folkie, which i apologise for in advance to most people i meet. faves include: cat empire, the waifs, kristina olsen, bob dylan, arlo guthrie, jodie martin, serena ryder, the 'oh bother where art thou' soundtrack, the bluehouse, tiddas, belle and sebastian, crowded house/split enz, edie brickell, simon and garfunkel, hedwig and the angry inch (not technically folk, i know) john butler trio, the lucksmiths, man bites god, toothfaeries, totally gourdgeous, woody guthrie. people do seem to appreciate my other genre choice: 80's! george micheal, wham, the bangles, bananrama, jimmy buffet, micheal jackson (when he was still cool) bon jovi, cyndi lauper, who i loved at woodford 06/07: that1guy (mindblowing and astounding are words that spring to mind - he is a cross between frank zappa and mal webb - and kudos to you if you know who both of them are) totally gourdgeous (just to prove you CAN have a whole band playing instruments made of gourd's!), xavier rudd, lior, pablo discobar, bobby flynn and band, the audreys, 80's singalong,

Movies:

hedwig and the angry inch, footloose, life of brian, monty pythons meaning of life, monty python and the holy grail, grease, the breakfast club, cohen brothers films, stanley kubrick films, anything with john cusack or james spader *drool*, the castle...so many more i csn't think right now

Television:

the young ones, absolutly fabulous, black books, kath and kim, arrested development, anything by the chaser team, survivor *blush*

Books:

weaveworld, abarat and pretty much anything else by clive barker, shantaram, the alchemist, the neverending story, micheal marshall smith, paolo coehlo, john marsden, douglas adams, tom wolfe,
