CLASSIC 70's SALSA: the whole fania thing! particularly eddie palmieri, joe cuba sextette w/cheo feliciano (pure genius!), hector lavoe, ray barretto, markolino dimond (terrific pianist of that era), la sonora ponceña, tipica 73, etc. 70's FUNK: james brown, fela kuti, the meters, funkadelic/parliament, sly & the family stone, etc. 70's R&B: al green, harold melvin & the bluenotes/teddy pendergrass (mid-late 70's before he went a bit soft), the ebonys, isaac hayes, tower of power (the lenny williams years), earth wind & fire, mandrill, etc.
Angel Heart, Apocolypse Now, Blade Runner, Pulp Fiction, The Killer (John Woo), Children of Men (Wow!), Touch of Evil (Orson Welles), Out Of The Past (Robert Mitchum), Seven, City of God (Fernando Meirelles), The Godfather I & II, Miller's Crossing, Unforgiven, Strange Days, V For Vendetta. Big fan of classic & modern day film noirs.
