With a genuine commitment to helping those who are less fortunate, the Puerto Rican pianist Adlan Cruz unveils his DVD, ..Live in Brazil: The Pianoforte Tour... Adlan has had great success throughout Europe, Asia, Africa, South America and the United States. Now through this new project, one will have an excellent chance to enjoy a very special concert from his current tour that was recorded before an audience of 1,500 people in Sao Paulo.
The affection that he has acquired for this country has been demonstrated through the establishment of a charitable foundation - The Adlan Cruz Foundation. One of the Foundation..s primary goals is to provide general support for a special school in Brazil, including offering financial assistance to students in need. In addition, it also supports efforts to provide aid to orphaned children in the Congo and child victims of the tsunami in Southeast Asia.
"This project is very special to me, as it is part of what defines my career, my music and my feelings. It's rich in variety, including Brazilian, Flamenco, African, Asian, Afro Caribbean and classical rhythms. My special guest of honor was singer Assiria Nascimiento, the wife of legendary soccer sensation Pel... She awed the audience with her smooth voice, which was accompanied by bossa nova rhythms,'', said Cruz, who relied on a select group of musicians from the Sao Paulo Symphony Orchestra and an all star band for this production, including Rio de Janeiro's own bass guitarist Arthur Maia.
The video footage for this concert was recorded by an experienced team that has worked with MTV Brazil. They managed to convert the recorded event into a special type of rendition of Unplugged.
