DON'T MOVE!

DON'T MOVE!’s unique brand of groovy pop music began in Feb 2004 when a series of late night jams led to the musical marriage of Mason's shining, bluegrass guitar picking and Joe's sweet and powerful bass melodies. After a year of casual songwriting their sound was completed by Paul Robertson and his sparkly red, vintage drumkit.
The “propulsive, addictive rhythms of DON’T MOVE!” (The Fly) were born from a diverse range of influences including 60s legends such as The Byrds, Scott Walker and Love, as well as jazz greats like Buddy Rich, Ahmad Jamal and Jaco Pastorius and an appetite for classic disco. Not to mention their love of folk and roots music too.
It was Janurary 2006 when the band played their first electric performance in their hometown Leamington Spa. Since then they have played over 100 gigs including a slot at Coventry’s Godiva festival and supports for the likes of Jeffrey Lewis and Devon Sproule. They have also had numerous appearances on BBC Coventry and Warwickshire radio and hosted ‘DON’T MOVE! Just Groove!’, their own monthly residency in Coventry at Taylor John’s House, the same venue that has held such names as Bert Jansch, Richie Havens and Jose Gonzales.
