Winterschatten was formed by Haglaz in Summer/Fall 2006. The intention for the Music was to create a feeling between depression, loneliness and also inner peace and calmness in the spirit of (Dark) Ambient. Simple but emotional.
In the End of 2007 Dorlac joined the project.
In the beginning of 2008 the name was changed to "Winters Aeon".
