Hi Everyone this is Trevor here in LA. A bit about myself. I was born in Burbank Ca. to Pauline and Hal Mayer in 1965. A only child, I think it turned out ok. I have fond memories of Burbank and my childhood. I am a big believer that "What comes around goes around". I really try hard to be honest with people and treat them nice. I try to always be polite and when I am in a bad mood, I dont put that on other people. If I do wrong it will come back and kick me in the butt some how. It always does. I believe God watches always over me and I feel comfort in knowing this.
I live in Los Angeles now(Westside) and some of you might know me from my old job The Aquarium Stock Co. on Beverly Blvd at Cresent Heights Blvd just south of WEHO. This was a super busy full line fish store that first opened there door in June of 1948 and closed down in March of 2004. The owner gave up his lease after 29 years. The store had lots of cool pets like various reptiles, birds,exotic fish, and all the pet supplies. I worked at the store for 18 years and made some really nice friends.
The property is now a Design Within Reach furniture store. The only way you can tell that it was a fish store before is that when the store was sold, the new business kept the original angel Fish logo that was on the outside of the store since 1955.
I have lots of good memories from working there and I worked with 9 people for over 10 years, Jim, John, Dana, Joe, Sasha, Tim, Gary, Walter, and Rocky. Any of you who remember Rocky he passed away from cancer in March, 2006. He was a really big part of the store and had a super large base of customers who adored him from there and he was so involved with the welfare of pets and was a volunteer at animal shelters in the San Fernando Valley. Rocky we miss you.
Famous people that shopped there that I helped, Nicholas Cage for a ton of years, Leonardo Decaprio, Paris Hilton and her sister Nicki for many many years, Charlize Theron, Bridget Fonda, Drew Barrymore(You Are The Sweetest Person), Neil Diamond,Aaron Spelling, Forest Whitaker, Keanu Reeves, Reese Witherspoon, Sandra Bullock, Ellen DeGeneres, David Allen Grier, Brad Pitt, Layla Ali when she was a little girl, Jon Voight and his daughter Angelina Jolie when she was a like twelve. I'm sure more will come to mind later.
I now have worked in the Hotel industry for 2 1/2 years. While it is not much of a challanging job, most of my coworkers are pretty cool and it has been a good experience. I have met alot of nice people.
The thing I enjoy the most is music. I remember as a 5 year old listening to 93 KHJ on the AM dial(Do U Guys Remember 93 KHJ?) here in Los Angeles (this was before FM was cool) and singing along to lots and lots of Motown and Elton John, The Spinners, Carly Simon, and most of the popular pop rock and motown from the 70's. I would do what alot of kids would did and stand on my bed and act like the microphone was in front of me and just sing and the crowd(my fake crowd) was next to my bed watching and cheering. It was so much fun and I remember it like it was yesterday. While never singing except in the School Choir in 7th grade or playing an instrument, I do love going to concerts and love listening to music on my Ipod. Thank God for Mp3 players as I was getting tired of lugging around 30 cd's at a time listening to my bulky portable cd player. I have about 3000 songs on there.
