About Me

My name is Jose Medeiros and I live in San Jose, California. I put this page up for Roy Kelsey.

Why did I put this page up for Roy?

I met Roy at Maier Racing in Hayward the day he was picking up his car from the Richmond Police Impound Yard and it was smashed on a car trailer. I offered to help Roy try and get his car back together and later helped him tear down his front suspension and pull out his motor and transmission ( My back was killing me after we were done). I also helped Roy find a front clip from a 65 Mustang coupe and encouraged him to section the two half's together after watching the " Rustang " episode on Overhaulin. However both of us are not metal workers by trade, and do not really have the expertise to section the car back together, so that is where the progress on this has stopped. I am sure that Roy would appreaciate any words of encouragemant to keep him motivated on this project!

What happened to Roy's Car?

About two years ago, Roy's 65 Mustang fastback was stolen from his driveway in front his home on a Saturday between the hours of 11:30 and 11:44pm, while he was asleep 10 feet away. His neighbor, a fellow car enthusiast, heard the car being started, and was able to pinpoint the time. Roy believes the involvement of an acquaintance, as the method and time does not appear to have been done by professionals. (Excerpted from Contra Costa times article)
"When police caught up near 23rd Street and Broadway Avenue, the gray car had pulled lengthwise across lanes of traffic and the Mustang was spinning donuts in the intersection." "... the occupants periodically taunted them with hand gestures, ..."The Car in question: A 1965 fastback which had been modified with massive infusions of time and money. Here's a shot of it during painting. http://www.protoworks.com/Mustang/351Proj.htm

You can observe the roll bar behind the seats which retains the shoulder harness. I am sure that when they crashed, the driver got a piece of steering wheel through his face at close to 100 mph when they plowed into a Motor home in Richmond, CA.

Here are some details of the more than 3 years of effort that Roy put into the project.

Mustang Suspension Modifications andMustang Rebuild Project List of Items

Unfortunately, Roy's comprehensive insurance was discontinued by his insurance co. "Pending new photo's" so this loss is a direct out of pocket loss and he does not think that he has the resources now to complete it again since he was laid-off from a High Tech company in Silicon Valley as a Project Manager.

God Bless You and thank you for taking the time to read this!

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Chip Foose and the crew from Overhaulin. I really wish that Overhaulin would pick Roy's car as a project car. At the moment, Roy really can not afford to restore his Mustang back to the condition it was in prior to it being stolen from his driveway.Mike Maier from Maier racing designed and installed his full frame roll cage, which saved the lives of the thief's who crashed his car at 100 Miles per hour. Please visit Maier Racing at http://www.maierracing.com . Roy has forgiven the thief's for what they have done and he is glad that they at least survived. He hope's & pray's that they have learned not to steal and do some thing productive with their lives once they are released from prison. God Bless You and thank you for taking the time to read this!
