Born on the south side of Chicago, Larry’s mother moved him and his two sisters to New York before he was a year old. While living in Jamaica Queens, Larry grew up during a musical renaissance with many of today greatest musicians. By age seven Larry got his first guitar. By age 14, he was playing the saxophone professionally and discovering he had a voice, with the band Soul Inspiration. After years of bouncing from one instrument to the next, he finally settled on bass guitar and that’s when everything changed. Larry was a bass player. From there, Larry would go on to play with several different bands and tour throughout the US, Canada and the Caribbean. Too much travel and too many missed opportunities made it necessary to return home, and find a way to stay home while continuing to pursue his musicals endeavors.Over the next few years, Larry worked a 9 to 5 while gigging on the weekends with The Charles St. Paul Band. He studied audio engineering at NYU and The New School, always trying to stay on top of the new musical technologies being introduced almost daily.Larry decided to focus on his own music, at which time he teamed up with his childhood friend Tyrus (Rusty) Wheeling, and they built their own home recording studio. “Our soul purpose was to record our own music at our own pace, without having to rely on people to do things for us. It was a good plan, but it took longer than we’d hopedâ€. Unfortunately after a yearlong battle with cancer, Tyrus passed away in 2005 and will not see their dream come to fruition. After losing his best friend and business partner, it took some time before Larry could resume the creative process, and get back to the dream. Finally, after all the years of perseverance, the dream has come to fruition.Fulfillment (the CD) is self-explanatory; it is the fulfillment of a dream.
