About Me

The KINETIC POETICS PROJECT is an anualfestival of poetry and spoken word at UCSC’s Porter College Theater. Each night, the Kinetic Poetics Project provides a space for local and student poets to showcase their work for the community and highlights an established poet. As a supplement to the featured poets’ performances, the Kinetic Poetics Project has arranged free poetry and writing workshops facilitated by the poets themselves. _________________________SANTA CRUZ CITY SLAM is affiliated and run by members of Kinetic Poetics and member of the UCSC campus Slam. Santa Cruz once was the first West Coast city to have a slam team, but for whatever reason, enthusiasm quelled. Now the City slam is BACK! as of June 2005 and in full force with featured award winning poets from all over the country. Please see our blogs for Feature poet updates and join our FRIENDS list to be updated about shows.
