First of all, I want to give big props to Lil' G/Hambone Records/GVH Productions for allowing me to come into the studio and record Whiskey. G, you're the man!!! On this particular song, Lil' G played keyboard, bass, and the drums, along with production!
Sapphic Dremes was formed in 2003 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Heather was invited to an open mic night at a local bar called Tommy's Place where she met Opal. They instantly became friends, along with another guitarist, who ended up not panning out. About 3 months into the friendship they met Michelle "Capes". From the first practice in Opal's living room the trio clicked. The band then enlisted lead guitarist/keyboard player Marcus, to occasionally sit in with them. Marcus has since moved away, but the girls keep on trucking. They have a loyal following of fans who travel to each gig along with the band and always seem to make many new fans each venue they play. Heather lives in Lafayette, LA which is 3 hours from Shreveport, where Capes and Opal live, but they get together as much as possible and put on a great show when they play. Country, rock, oldies, rap, originals...you name it, they play it. It will entertain any crowd.Heather has been playing guitar for 12 years now. Country, rock, folk, rap, you name it she plays and listens to it. Heather writes her own originals which the band plays along with popular cover songs. Heather is a RN by trade, but a musician at heart. Music is definately her passion!!Opal has been playing the drums for many years for many different bands. Music is her outlet....the escape from reality she longs for. Every gig, every venue, every beat of those drums is a relief from day to day stresses.Capes, a transplant to the South from Wisconsin, has only just begun to tap into her "inner musician". She has been playing the bass guitar for only a few years, but her talent is obvious. The music is definately inside her!
