Vivacious and Loving Life

About Me

I am vivacious, and full of life. I feel like I'm thirty-five--and often I act like I'm 35. My energy level says that I ought to be 35. So, I'm blessed by all that. I have so many interests that it would be hard to list them all. Among them are reading, exploring, bicycling, and engaging in good conversation. I like my coffee upon arising in the morning, but I enjoy a proper pot of tea, in the afternoon. I also enjoy nice full strength Scotch, on social occasions.
Although Fairbanks, Alaska is what I call "God's Country," and therefore home, I did some travelling last year, and I spent several months in Shreveport, Louisiana. I got to know Shreveport very well, along with Northwest Louisiana, as well as nearby East Texas, Southeastern Arkansas, and parts of Mississippi.
I'm glad I'm back in Fairbanks, now. One thing about the South: I missed snow. Snow is a way of life! Cross country skiing and snowshoeing are nonexistant in the South. I enjoy history, yet a big gap in my knowledge has been the American Civil War, especially the Western Campaigns. While I was in Louisian, I enjoyed studying the Battle of Mansfield (and visiting the battlefield), and the Red River Campaign.
You can take the girl out of Alaska, but you can't take the Alaska out of the girl. (Only those of you from Alaska will understand this, but it seems so odd that when you go to a ball game in the Lower-48, that before the game, they don't all stand up and sing, "Eight stars of gold, on a field of blue; Alaska's flag, may it mean to you." :)

My Interests

I do like bicycling, hiking, hunting, and shooting. I love literature, but I like to read novels and mysteries, too.

I'd like to meet:

PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE SENDING A FRIEND REQUEST: PLEASE SEND A FRIEND REQUEST ONLY IF YOU ACTUALLY WANT TO GET TO KNOW ME. I HAVE OTHER OBLIGATIONS IN MY LIFE OTHER THAN MYSPACE. PLEASE DO NOT SEND ME A FRIEND REQUEST IF YOU ARE JUST “COLLECTING” FRIENDS.

I'd like to meet very nice interesting men and women who are fun to chat with, and interesting to know. I like to devote quality time to each one of my MySpace friends. It doesn't matter to me if you are male, female, gay, lesbian, bi, or transsexual. I just want to meet some cool people and make new friends.

Also, I do not believe in "ranking" my friends. Every person on my Friends list is important to me. I appreciate each person on my Friends list as an individual, and I enjoy their unique and special qualities. Please ask me to add you to my Friends list, only if your profile picture is of your face. I will not approve any faceless add requests, to my Friends list. Generally speaking,

I will deny the request of any commercial site. The exception to that would be places that I know, like, recommend, and frequent.Such an example is a place that I do have on my Friends list, which is "Never Never Land."

Music:

I like just about all music, from classical to pop and country. I do not like techno, though.

Movies:

Movies? Sure, we can go to the movies. Or we can watch a DVD together.

Television:

Certain programs are nice, but I never have the tube blatting in the background. If I'm not watching it, it is turned off.

Books:

BOOKS!!! YES!!! I am an inveterate reader. I even carry a "back-up" book in the car, just in case, on impulse, I decide to stop in some place for lunch, I will have something to read.

Heroes:

Christine Jorgenson, Jan Morris, Calpernia Addams, Andrea James, and my special heroine, Lynn Conway www.lynnconway.com.
