David K. Hammett, a D.C. native, first received his musical calling at the early age of 8 when he began singing in the Youth Choir of Greater Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. It was here where he discovered his gospel roots and allowed God to manifest Himself through song. David continued to use his God-given gift as he joined the Duke Ellington Boys Choir at the young age of 10 where he sang and received 3 years of specialized vocal training. After leaving the Duke Ellington Boys Choir, David joined the Washington Performing Arts Society's "Children of The Gospel." After 3 years with society, David decided to focus primarily on his ministry with the Greater Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Youth Choir. After spending much of his early adulthood at GPGBC, David was led to join Union Temple Baptist Church, where he joined the Young Adult choir. This would eventually lead to an invitation from the Union Temple Baptist Church Praise Team. While on the Praise Team, David's worship began to evolve. He began to not only sing but to invoke pure worship. Through the praise team and increase of worship, doors began to open for David. He began to receive calls and invitations for engagements and was introduced to various local gospel artists.David is currently a new Solo Artist under N2DEEP Fam. He can also be heard singing background for SolEdler, Tia L. Singleton and Mackenzie Green.
