She realized her gift of singing when she sang “Oh It Is Jesus†before the congregation of her church family at the age of 7. As a member of the Union Temple Baptist Church Tia has been exposed to many national artist. Her ministry really began to blossom while attending Eastern Senior High School located in Northeast Washington, DC under the direction of Joyce Garrett. It was there that Tia started her vocal training and was chosen to lead the choir vocally in many of their concerts and plays.She furthered her vocal development throughout the years. She sang with the renowned youth choir at Union Temple Baptist Church, who won the first Quaker Oats Gospel Competition and also recorded their first CD live in 1995. Under the leadership of her co-pastor Mary L. Wilson, where her Spiritual gifts were developed and nurtured. In addition to Joyce Garrett, Tia was taught by other gospel pioneers such as Wesley Boyd, William Hubbard and Raymond Reeder who have made major contributions to the music industry. At the age of 16, she became a member of a female singing group Yunek (pronounced Unique). This group was comprised of Tia and four of her girlfriends who all were gifted with extraordinary vocal range and skill. They were known throughout the Washington metropolitan area and today, still continue to use their musical gifts & talents.Currently, Tia is called upon throughout the eastern seaboard to render praise and worship for conferences, worship services, concerts, etc. Her powerful anointing can be felt from the first note to the last! Miss Singleton hails from a long line of singers on both sides of her family. She believes in giving God the very best that she has to offer every time! Tia is also a youth mentor, songwriter, and author of her own publication entitled: â€Sibling Circle of Powerâ€. This is a monthly publication of encouragement for Tia’s siblings and extended family.Tia has traveled extensively and has been blessed to sing with renowned recording artists such as Aretha Franklin, Michael Jackson, LL Cool JJ, Reba McIntyre, Barry Manilow, Yolanda Adams, Micah Stampley, Patti Labelle etc. Currently you can catch Tia is a Solo Artist under N2DEEP Fam.
