The Wyldearts are the ones that lead to Wonder and Understanding

About Me

I am a painter, sculptor and performance artist who has been creating in some form or other for nearly five decades. It is as important to me as breathing. I try to combine it with a life of service to the planet, social justice and to the spirit.ARTIST STATEMENT My life has always been driven by the need for self recognition and art, in all its forms, is how I assuage that need. It is a vital part of the process of how I make sense of my complex inner worlds. They are not however journal entry’s done in retrospect because the process of attempting to chronicle my experiences reopens the place in my being. Then as I work every brush stroke becomes an inquiry and every colour a question in its self. Then the act of making art becomes subsumed by the energy of the experience I am trying to express. All that loss, confusion, pain, love, joy or exultation sweeps me away from the here and now from the realities of the physical world. I am reminded over and over that art truly is one of life’s most difficult pleasures. I struggle for control so that I can practice my craft in all of this intensity. I confess I believe the results are mixed and despite the amount of work I do each time feels like the first time. While I do long for the experience of the masterwork the genius piece as my painting tutor use to call it, it is elusive. However the older you get the more you need something to strive for and maybe the only satisfaction I get will be in the striving but it will be enough.

My Interests

Art all forms, Archaeology, Quantum physics, Mysticism, Hell just about most things

I'd like to meet:

Creative people who are passionate and spirited and still have a sense of wonder.People who are interested in sharing the Human Experience.

Music:

Broad spectrum but I don't choose music that tries to assault me with anger bitterness or spirit eroding lirics

Movies:

To diverse to detail

Television:

Mad about docos, DIY, Forensic mysteries and things that challenge and intrigue.

Books:

Also to diverse to detail but I tend to be always in love with the last book I read

Heroes:

They come and go in my life. They need to change as I do but they're often Wild Wise women who are brave enough to show their shadow along with their light.
