Brigitte

Brigitte Straub is a worship artist who’s transparent and able to articulate the language of the thirsty human heart.    “The thread that runs through my songs is one of intimacy,” says Brigitte. “My heart’s cry is to know Him more, and for others to want to know God.”   “I want my songs to cut to people’s hearts,” she continues, “to embody a truth that goes beyond mere human words...to bring hope, to light a fire within.”   Married to a Marine aviator, she’s moved around a lot and cared for their four children over her husband’s many deployments, most recently to Iraq.   These trying times forged in Brigitte “a still and quiet spirit” and a passion for connecting with God through prayer and writing.   Though fresh on the worship music scene, Brigitte has been writing and singing songs as long as she can remember, spending hours pouring herself out at the piano in the basement of the home where she grew up as a pastor’s kid in Canada.   “Playing the piano has always been a way for me to translate my inner life into music. It is one way I can truly be me.”   Along with songwriting, Brigitte is a regular contributor to Campus Crusade for Christ’s women’s email devotionals, with 30,000 subscribers worldwide. Her articles have also appeared on ChristianWomenToday.com.   She has a particular passion for ministering to youth and young adults, “probably because,” she says, “I experienced times of difficulty and confusion in that particular season of my life, struggling with questions like ‘Who am I?’ ‘Is there anything worth living for?’ I’m still learning to embrace myself, to be true to who God created me to be.”   As Brigitte comes into her own, she offers a collection of richly textured worship songs that are open-hearted and true, ones that the listeners can embrace as their own.
