The C-Mass Fund
I developed The C-Mass Fund for Sustainable Development, Prosperity & Peace as a nonprofit foundation to support VillageDirect.org and its Community Development Venture Capital Funds by providing the necessary trust to overcome donor fatigue and the confidence to attract financial resources to supplement official development and impact efforts to elevate poverty by building capacity, sustainable development and promoting economic growth, prosperity and peace in distressed communities in developed countries, and low-income and Least Developed Countries.
The absence of a vibrant local, non-profit sector contributes to the depth of economic problems faced by distressed communities in both developed and developing countries.
Where a for-profit sector is nascent and a vibrant non-profit sector is non-existent, the full weight of economic activities falls on the public sector.
There are no buffers to substitute or reinforce governmental social programs, nurture and cradle new ideas or to which certain costs of research and development can be shifted until they become commercially viable and therefore able to attract investors.
A strong local non-profit sector is vital to empowering communities and accomplishing the Millennium Development Goals; because, in the public sector, decisions become politicized, as they are everywhere, and needs that could be satisfied by a vibrant non-profit sector, if it existed, compete (often unsuccessfully) with other needs.
The loss of priority in the public sector budget is total because there is not a strong, native, private foundation to finance these activities off the public sector budget.
The C-Mass Fund for Sustainable Development, Prosperity & Peace shall provide necessary trust to overcome donor fatigue and confidence to attract financial resources to supplement official development and impact efforts to elevate poverty through capacity building, supporting good governance, investment in infrastructure, and contributing to sustainable development, economic growth, prosperity and peace.
This fund presents a new avenue through VillageDirect.Org to significantly impact world poverty and provide billions of people in low-income and Least Developed Countries new opportunities to enjoy the fruits of globalization, in addition to creating new jobs and business opportunities for skilled laborers and professionals from more developed countries.
We intend to enhance private sector growth and job creation through the use of market-based tools and strategies in order to unleash entrepreneurial spirits.
We are focused on mobilizing domestic, regional and international investment capital. Our efforts are committed towards channeling an increasing percentage of individual donor dollars towards reducing poverty in line with the MDGs from socially active philanthropic baby boomers and baby boomlets.
Programs shall be implemented to educate and increase the practice of philanthropy among people in low-income and Least Developed Countries and their respective Diaspora's communities around the world for the benefit of development and growth.
Our goal is to enable individuals, institutions, and societies to survive and prosper while sustaining peace and prosperity by raising $360 Billion for sustainable development in distressed communities in developed countries, low-income and Least Developed Countries over the next five years through charitable donations, private equity and the capital markets.

VillageDirect.Org
Because of the limited funding available from Global 2000 (2010) International while serving as its representative to the United Nations Economic and Social Council over the past two years, I have been forced to exclusively rely on information and communications technology to work with our partners around the world.
It became very clear to me over time that my approach to capacity building would be more effective if investments were made to improve the ICT infrastructure of our partners, making broad band internet service available to them, increasing the number of internet connected computers, the number of available of access centers, and reducing the cost of access.
This would allow Global 2000 (2010) International to partner with other organizations; governments and private sector firms to scale up and deliver the services need by our partners and many others to more effectively accomplish their goals of sustainable development and the objectives of the Millennium Development Goals and The Geneva Declaration of Principles and Plan of Action.

Why do so many companies and industries succeed globally while others lose ground or fail?
According to Harvard Business School Professor Michael Porter, competitive advantage can be explained by four key elements:

The Community Development Venture Capital Funds
Small businesses are vital for healthy economies and successful communities. By infusing investment capital and entrepreneurial expertise into the wealth of ingenuity and innovation in the communities we serve, our funds shall help businesses to flourish in areas where traditional investment capital fails to flow.
Investment in our funds will create financial returns for our investors and social returns in the form of good jobs that pay living wages and allow people to rise out of poverty and begin to create wealth.
Our investors shall have the opportunity to make a positive impact on distressed communities while at the same time receiving a competitive economic return on their investment.
Distressed communities in developed countries around the world and communities in low-income and Least Developed Countries are desperately in the need of this critical element of economic development.
Our value system embraces ethical behavior, social responsibility, ecological responsibility, sustainable development, intellectual honesty, team work and continuous learning, while promoting access to financing, cross border trade, education, and partnerships.
Our vision is to serve as a catalyst for the economic empowerment and sustainable development of communities and enterprises Globally.
