About Me


Chicago Access Network Television(CAN TV)
gives every Chicagoan a voice on cable television by providing video training, equipment, facilities and channel time for Chicago residents and nonprofit groups. CAN TV’s five local, non-commercial channels reach 1 million viewers in the city of Chicago.

CAN TV19 Public affairs, entertainment, documentary and arts.

CAN TV21 Live, call-in Hotline shows, community events coverage, Chicago Public Schools programs, with audio from CRIS Radio.

CAN TV27 CAN TV's FYI service reches viewers through a computer-generated video magazine with information on nonprofit community services.

CAN TV36 Religious and spiritual programs.

CAN-CALL TV42 Interactive community bulletin board with news about jobs, cultural activities, nonprofit resources, and audio from WBEZ-FM.

Tape Submissions

Any individual over 18 years of age with a Chicago residential address or a person representing a nonprofit organization or institution with a Chicago street address can submit programming to CAN TV free of charge.

Interactive Bulletin Board on CAN TV42
Bring your message to viewers on CAN TV42’s CAN-CALL. CAN TV tracks the number of calls to each bulletin board message so nonprofits can monitor outreach efforts.

Tape submission
Play your group’s existing non-commercial videotapes on CAN TV.

Production support
Produce your own TV programs with CAN TV’s training and production facilities.

Request coverage of your group’s community event.

Video Production

CAN TV holds free orientation sessions to introduce Chicago residents to the opportunities available at CAN TV.

Sessions are held at 322 South Green Street and do not require a reservation. Please be prompt. There is no admittance once the class starts.

Bring a photo ID with proof of city of Chicago street address, or a letter on organizational letterhead authorizing you to represent a nonprofit group based in the city of Chicago.
