TVO is an underground living room for university students in the daytime, and the city's longest running D.I.Y. rock club & culture grotto in the evenings. Some events are organized by the student association but most by people/bands/collectives that rent the place. The rent is case-specifically around 100 euros a night. If you want to suggest your band for a gig, or rent TVO for an event you organise on your own, fill the form (in Finnish) and hope for the best. Arrival & departure instructions
A two hour drive from Tampere and Helsinki (if you are able to go 120 km/h). Check the city map, TVO is right beside the Turku-Helsinki Highway 1 (E18). If you are coming from Stockholm, the ferries arrive either very early in the morning or too late for soundcheck in the evening. At the harbour, take Linnankatu street and drive all the way to the other end. Then turn right, cross the river, and turn left at the first junction. Now you are on Hämeenkatu street. After a few blocks, turn left before the highway bridge, and you are on Rehtorinpellonkatu street. If you are taking the next morning ferry to Stockholm, you must get up very early, or not sleep at all. The ferry arrives in Stockholm around 20.00 local time (depending on the ferry line).
Stage
No stage, all performances at crowd-level. Band space approximately 5 x 3,5 meters, height 2,2 meters.
Sound
Bands bring along the backline (settle this with the organiser of your show), we provide the PA. Nowadays we have some dj gear as well.
Soundcheck
Arrival at 18, unless stated otherwise. Soundchecks begin after loading. The first band on the bill is checked last.
Show time
On Fridays and Saturdays, doors open at 21, unless stated otherwise. Curfew at 01.30 - the show must end by then. All people out by 02.00. From Sundays to Thursdays the shows start around 20 or even earlier and must end by 22.00.
Food & drinks & accommodation
Settle in advance with the organisers. The venue does not provide free drinks, but we do have cheap prices (at least in Finnish standards) for artists.
Parking
There's a parking lot right in front of the venue, where you can leave your car while unloading. After that, you can take the car to
another parking lot close by.
