About Me

Hey! We're The Idols, we like to put some proper energy into the live show - being in a band is about fun, passion, excitement and entertainment - not being miserable and gazing at your shoes when you play!
Some of the gigs we've played - Hope and Anchor; Dublin Castle (LONDON); Jericho Tavern (OXFORD); Reading University, Plug N Play, Purple Turtle, 3B's, 21 South St (READING!); The Beacon (KENT); Tup Fest, Guilfest 07 (GUILFORD)
RADIO PLAY
Our first demo track "My Inspiration" was played on BBC Berkshire show, The Session, Sunday 15th October
Autumn 07 we'll be recording our first proper stuff. We can't wait!
REVIEWS
MATT DYSON, BBC BERKSHIRE/ NME writer: "Now this is a clean, unexpected, hit. Like a midget leaping to chin Peter Crouch, the opening riff of I am I can I will would have the most cynical giant applauding their nerve."
BLAH BLAH MAGAZINE (Berkshire's biggest free arts & music mag. 40,000 copies per month) REVIEW OCT 06....".....they've got one of the best frontmen i've seen in a long time. Not only can he sing, but he's one hell of a guitarist. He's reminiscent of a young Joe Strummer, and the set is full of passion and energy."..... "...Tim Potter, who co-wrote some of the songs, and Andy Russell, whose brilliant drumming and tight driving bass, respectively made sure that the set flowed effortlessly."
PLUG N PLAY (one of Readings best venues) NEWS LETTER SEP 06 "...these rising stars have been playing all over the south in recent months and guarantee a great gig wherever they perform. Brash and in-your face is the key to this band's show. Yer mother wouldn't like it."
JOSAKA.COM (the much loved music website resource in Berkshire) by the Godfather, Kevin Harrington ... "genuinely foot tapping songs!"

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: thefallingidols.co.uk
Band Members: Tim a k a TIMMMAAAA!!! - Drums & Backing Vox.

Drums by night, works with crazy kids by day, who spit, kick, & swear their way through school and generally need to be locked in a dark room for a few weeks. He takes his fury out on the drums, by imaging it's his worst kid's head (who happens to be female)...take that you bitch!

Andy a k a ICE MAN - Bass & Backing Vox.

Never puts a foot wrong, you play a new song to him, he's already written the bass line. Relaxed, calm and cool on stage. Never been angry in his life, if it happens, the end of the world will fall we all fear, such will be the fury of his wrath.

Shane a k a MAD DOG - Guitar & Lead Vox.

Not so much these days, the irish temper only flairs up when neccesary, but in his younger days used to love a good scrap, and occasionally threw bottles at his mates when they told bad jokes. His close friends still affectionately refer to him by his canine name.

Influences: Hey! The Idols represent good old fashioned rock n roll. Hard working, passionate lads, rippin it up as loud as poss and as true as poss. Come to our shows and see for yourself. Big love - Tim (drums.)
Stuff we like- White Stripes, Led Zep, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Oasis, Stone Roses, Rolling Stones, The Who, Eric Clapton, Cream, and loads of other modern stuff
Sounds Like: A quiet drink followed by a bar room brawl
Record Label: in time my son
Type of Label: None
