Bands that want to play, DJs and fans of live music. Bands need a decent venue where they can play good and loud and the kids need a place to go to watch the bands!
The Crush is coming... Music the kids want to hear in a club that they want to go to!
br>This is Markie's FAVOURITE game of all time!
ON THE 26th JULY THE CRUSH HAD THE FANTASTIC
CAUTION
ALL THEY KNOW
and
WE MAKE YOU WET
The shows are for 14-18 year olds, and the organisers aim to provide a hot,
rocking venue where kids can have a great night out and and also give bands
the opportunity to play loud in a decent venue, even if they are under 18.
THE LAUNCH NIGHT 31st May WAS ABSOLUTELY CRAZY WITH:

The Say
NOAH KELLY
and
DJ Dreadnought
Chinafight are an artrock band
currently based in Reading. Mervyn frontman Noah Kelly is a student at
Leighton Park School who has found it hard in the past to get gigs for his
band as the members are under 18. THE CRUSH HAS CHANGED THIS!
The idea behind The Crush is pretty simple: to give under 18s the chance to
see bands and give younger bands a chance to play at a decent venue.
Currently no-one else is promoting a regular night for 14-18s in Berkshire.
As a parent herself, co-organiser Luisa Garcia said, "I find it pretty
worrying that there is almost nothing for my 14 year old daughter to do
which is part of the reason that we have decided to put on some gigs that
are alcohol free and parents can feel safe in knowledge that their kids are
having fun in a safe, friendly environment. Once my daughter got on to Bebo
and MySpace word spread very quickly about this show and it was obvious
there is a huge demand for these kind of gigs."
REMEMBER!
The NEXT Crush is coming TURSDAY 26th JULY!!!
The Crush is an under 18s live music night for the kids of
Berkshire at the legendary After Dark
Club, London Street, Reading on Thursday 26th July tickets will be
£5 each. There are only 300 tickets available for this show, and buying
tickets in advance is advised - email [email protected] to reserve your tickets now!
Sid Siddle, The Crush co-organiser and local music lumianry, explained, "We
live in an age where music is promoted more via the Internet than the radio.
It's very quick and very instant and 2007 is really all about clubs and
gigs, the kids shouldn't have to miss out on some great bands just because
they aren't 18 yet. As great as the web is you will never get that live show
feeling staring at a computer. The major record labels have been a bit slow
on this, but they are trying to catch up."
