About Me

Formed in 1999, twenty mule team began as a way for three high school friends to pick up chicks. It didnt work. What did work, though, was the music. Soon after they began playing at friends' parties, they began writing original songs. Under the name of Braunschwanger, the band's style was hard-core to the extreme. Over the next two years, the name of the band changed three times (Flickjob, Speedo Swim Time, and Corey Hughes 5) as the style began to blend heavy and soft rock into one.
At the end of 2001, the band played what they knew would be their last show for four years while they each served missions. The time apart helped solidify the resolve and determination of the band, and during that time a lot of new material was written.
In August of 2005, Matt, John, and Burke were all back living in Las Vegas and began to work heavily on recording a demo. Over the months they spent recording their demo, Steven Smith was added as lead guitar and contributed heavily to the disc. After releasing the demo, Ryan Young replaced Burke as bass guitarist. In November, 2006, Ryan was replaced on bass guitar by Alex Dye.
twenty mule team is the product of a deep love and fascination with music and story-telling; musical styling that weaves itself through many genres of music before tightening itself into the fabric that is rock music.
