The Sophisticants started when Dougle was working as a production designer on a film and the director needed a rock band to scare the punters out of the pub. Of course Dougle said that he could get a rock band. But for one reason or another he couldn't get a band to commit. so he made one. The first 3 people he spoke to became the band. A few days later the first gig was on film. This is what they have done since. They are Sophisicants now.
