WE ARE THE JINXX'D...WHO THE F*CK ARE YOU?!?

About Me

The legend of The Jinxx’d began in late January 1996 when The Rhyno and Troy St. Jacques met at a Super Bowl party a mutual friend was having. St. Jacques who had been in and out of various hard rock outfits since high school and at that time was busy recording material for his second solo album had just begun jam sessions with a couple acquaintances (strictly for fun) and after discussing musical likes and dislikes, invited The Rhyno over to hang out and jam. The two gelled and after a phone conversation and a meeting at The Rhyno’s apartment the two decided to forge on as a 2 piece with The Rhyno handling all vocals and lyrics and St. Jacques handling all of the music, guitars, drums, bass and backing vocals. Soon after St. Jacques came up with "The Jinxx’d" and The Rhyno came up with the alternative spelling used today. They hit the studio and recorder their 1st CD - 1996’s "Smelly Cat". After taking a short hiatus from recording the two began the writing process again and emerged from the studio with a heavier and more diverse and eclectic 2nd CD - "Degeneration Jinxx’d" in 1998 Next "The Jinxx’d" decided to record an album of cover songs entitled "Under the Influence" - though this CD never saw the light of day some of the songs were used as bonus tracks on the band’s 2000 effort, which saw a return to a less dark, more party-vibe feeling. "The Jinxx’d" had definitely found their niche and devised their signature sound on the extremely successful "A Drinking Band With A Metal Problem" featuring the controversial hit single "If I Killed Your Boyfriend...". St. Jacques decided with all this material under their belts that he would throw a backyard CD release party for friends and family where "The Jinxx’d" and some friends would play the songs from and hand out free copies of the new CD. The party was bigger success than St. Jacques or The Rhyno could have ever expected as in the crowd that day was a bass player by the name of Matt Wilder, a young drummer by the name of Sly Bitetto. The newly formed 4 piece immediately hit Saint Studios in Chichester, NH and began vigorous rehearsals in preparation for what would become the bands first tour. The "Will Rock for Beer Tour" was a grueling 23 shows spanning over a 10 month period in 2000/2001. During this time the new Jinxx’d lineup found time to rehearse and record the band’s biggest selling single to date. The 3 song maxi-single including re-recorded versions of the mega-cult classic "If I Killed Your Boyfriend....Would You Go Out With Me?!?", new set-closer and crowd favorite "Tie Me Up...Turn Me On!!" and a re-recorded updated version of the 1st song ever written by The Jinxx’d - "Insomnia" and was instantly a best seller as crowds at shows were scooping up bootlegged copies of the single faster than the band could produce them. The buzz for the Jinxx’d style of party rock was at an all-time high....unfortuantely drummer Sly Bitteto had begun negotiations before the end of the tour to depart The Jinxx’d and join a group friends in alt./goth/industrial band "Mario Sexy and the Gargoyles". The Jinxx’d went on an indefinite hiatus through 2002 with Rhyno forming nu-metal band "My Life Crisis" (with Wilder now going by the name Matt Connarton) and St. Jacques fronting metal cover band "Six Pak". After Rhyno quit MLC the two decided to reunite and began writing together again producing the EPIC Jinxx’d CD - 2003’s "RES’ERECTION"!! At that point the dynamic duo realized that the Jinxx’d must live again. Rhyno made a call to former My Life Crisis drummer - Stump who came on board and they recruited solo artist Rob "Razz" Kleiner to play bass. The most successful Jinxx’d tour to date ("The Jinxx’d have a Res’Erection Tour) ripped through the Spring/Summer and Fall of 2003 leaving all bars, clubs and dives that dared to book the 4-piece in it’s wake. The lineup then decided to hit the studio as a 4-piece and record the heavier and more powerful "Green Album" in late 2003/early 2004 unfortunately the recording sessions of this CD became the downfall of the band as bass player Rob "Razz" Kleiner left the band over "creative differences". Saint, Rhyno and Stump finished up the tracks that were completed and released what would become the "The Green EP" in 2004. Deciding that it was time to spread thrier wings and take on the biggest challenge of their careers St. Jacques and Rhyno decided to put the party vibe aside for one CD and begin the writing/recording of the massive undertaking that would become the dark concept album "Vicious Circle". When released on Christmas of 2005 - not only was the Jinxx’d Nation pleasantly surprised at receiving a second Jinxx’d CD in a one year span but the masses were shocked at the heaviness of the music, depth of the storyline and the over-all darkness of the material. For the 10 year anniversary of the Jinxx’d Saint and Rhyno felt that it was time to do a show to celebrate the milestone. Calling on long-time drummer Pete "Stump" Turgeon to once again hold down the backbeat and the return of Matt Wilder to bass duties - the strongest lineup of the Jinxx’d’s history plowed through their greatest hits on their 2006 "Last Supper?" show. The Jinxx’d then (proving that it wasn’t a Last Supper at all) went back in the studio in 2007 recording their next CD..."SICK" and again playing live in support of the new CD on the "I Think We’re Gonna’ Be SICK Tour"!! So all of you Jinxx’d Junkies get ready for 2008 and a nationwide "EARGASM" with more of the way metal was meant to be played...with uncompromised vision, uncensored content and uncontrolled mayhem!!!
