Music, comfort food, lounging around on a Sunday afternoon, moonlight hikes, bonfires, watching a beautiful sunset, waking up to see the sunrise, kissing, dancing to a rythmic song, expanding my consciousness, being in love. xoxoBeing surrounded by nature- either near the ocean or under the redwoods. I love to spend my time with real people- down to earth, positive people.
I meet brilliant people everyday.. no matter where I am. These are people who will look me in the eyes as the woman that I am.I am not interested in meeting anyone who is out for selfish gain. I choose to be surrounded by people who genuinely care about themselves and our world, people who radiate love and speak peace. I am interested in living with integrity.I would like to meet people who believe that every person deserves their time to shine, and don't let jealousy and envy cloud their minds and actions. People that love animals, can lose themselves in a nostalgic song, enjoy exploring nature, and give back to Mother Earth.
Music is my favorite thing in the world!! So much potential to influence people with important messages. Transcends space and time..The latest shows that I've seen are- Coachella, The Killers, John Mayer Trio, Ray LaMontagne, Martin Sexton, U2, Fiona Apple, Sara Barielles, Cake, Thievery Corp. I would love to see Sarah McLachlan, Dido, Butterfly Boucher, Sade, Matisyahu, Rachael Yamagata. I love to dance to Thievery Corporation, The Bravery,Blue Man Group (saw them at Coachella- amazing), go crazy to Prodigy and Chemical Brothers, grooving to Steel Pulse or Bob Marley. Paolo Nutini is unique.. The Shins always make me happy.Evanescence was a show that I saw at my favorite venue.. the Warfield in SF. What an experience.. being a few people back from the stage.. it was intense.I'm going through a girl rock phase in the music I am listening to currently. I've recently discovered Plumb.. I really like her. Anything that gets me moving and makes me wanna jump around.
Garden State was one that really hit home with me- I identify with the time of life Andrew is in the movies.. sort of a quarter-life crisis. Here's one of my fave quotes. "You know that point in your life when you realize that the house that you grew up in isn't really your home anymore?... You'll see when you move out it just sort of happens one day and it's just gone. And you can never get it back. It's like you get homesick for a place that doesn't exist. I mean, it's like this rite of passage, you know. You won't have this feeling again until you create a new idea of home for yourself, you know, for your kids, for the family you start, it's like a cycle or something. I miss the idea of it. Maybe that's all family really is. A group of people who miss the same imaginary place." The Departed rocked. Although it was violent, I really enjoyed it. It's kinda sad though, seeing how old everyone is getting. I have to say, Leo is still a hottie. Pan's Labyrinth was a beautiful, at times horrific movie that I think every adult should see!! It's what a movie should be- visually stimulating, with a good storyline, and keeps your attention during the entire movie. I could have watched another hour of it!! Click surprised me and was very emotional, not just slapstick comedy of Adam Sandler. I think society can learn a lot from this movie. Adam Sandler also had a very strong dramatic performance in Reign Over Me.I just saw Into the Wild. What a dramatic, life changing movie. Real, raw, this movie had me intrigued the entire time.
Most television is bad for you. It turns your body to blubber and your brain to mush. The news is one of the biggest evils. Something needs to change. Our children should not be exposed to all that they are through the news. It's sickening. My goal is to move somewhere out of the country and not have TV at all..... well, not American TV with news, the Man Show, Bill O'Reilly, all that crap. Yeah, it's entertaining.. sure. But what is it doing to your life? Is it making it better? Probably not. Is it making you angry.. making you treat women as objects... I could go on.. but won't.I'll make it simple...TV is one of the downfalls of our Information Age. Sure, there are beautiful things to watch... the Discovery Channel, TLC, The Food Network, etc. Other than that, I usually just watch DVD's. Maybe I'm a control freak..... I'll admit it. I just don't like gruesome videos flashing before my eyes. Why do we need to watch News so often? Ellen Degeneris says something funny about it in her most recent DVD.... We have the broadcaster reporting the news, then a ticker at the bottom of every little stupid factoid.. etc.My challenge to you is......don't watch the news for 2 weeks.. or a month.. if you can stand it. See how your life changes.I get news online or through Mother Jones magazine.... I can choose what I want to know about. :)
I have a library of books in my room. They are books on Spirituality, Health and Wellness, Self Help, Sexuality. If you ever have a question about any of those topics, let me know. I'll look something up for you, or I may know it off the top of my head.I'm currently reading the Osho collection of books. The one I'm reading at the moment is Intelligence. It's eye-opening and simple.. our institutions and the way we are raised takes away our innate intelligence. We learn to distrust our own instincts and depend on leaders to tell us what to do and where to go. If we all were our own leaders, do you think it would matter what the hell Bush does or says? It wouldn't matter!!!I just "met" an amazing girl, Sera Beak who wrote a beautiful book for women.. "The Red Book- A Deliciously Unorthodox Approach to Igniting Your Divine Spark". This is such a wonderful book! I found her on zaadz.**If you haven't checked it out yet, www.zaadz.com and my personal page is www.loveisallaroundus.zaadz.com. Check it out!!**
My hero is my loving, beautiful, full of sunshine mother- who is now watching over me in Heaven. Without her guidance and love, I wouldn't have such a strong base to stand on. Her amazing love showed me what I want to strive to be and how powerful love can be in any experience. I can only hope that I am making her proud. My wish is to live without regret and to live in a way that makes an impression on my future children and to directly affect the lives around me for the better.**My Brandy girl is my hero- I would die for this girl. She is the strongest, most complex and fascinating creature I've come across so far. We met through an odd twist of fate.. there is a master plan behind everything! I love her with all my heart!!***Lisa is my very best friend in the whole world. She and I have been friends since the 1st grade.. at Holy Spirit Catholic School. This girl lives in a simple way, without judgment or drama. I miss her- she lives in Utah.. but, she's always in my heart. ***Lindsey is one of my best friends. More like a sister. This amazing girl walked the Avon Breast Cancer 3day walk.. 60 miles and raised money for the cause that took my mom. She walked in honor of my mom. I don't know anyone else who has stood by me and helped me the way that my Linz has. I love her!!***Angelina Jolie is amazing. She is a strong, independent woman who has taken the world on.
