DJ Puffs is a lifetime student of love, kindness, justice and soul. Growing up in a musically rich and diverse household, Puffs developed an affinity for music at an early age. Grateful for her beginnings and opportunities at Los Angeles' Scratch DJ Academy, Puffs has branched out, and is making her imprint upon the Los Angeles nightlife scene. Both humble and hungry, Puffs works tirelessly to "get it crackin", making people move to the music and release their troubles to the momentum of her syncopated, seamlessly blended beats.
Currently, Puffs can be found spinning at some of Los Angeles' hottest spots. Puffs has provided beats for the CW Network's Summer TCA Party, the 'On the Line' Movie Wrap Party starring Harrison Ford and Sean Penn, the Watts Summer Games, Maserati's Gran Turismo Unveiling Party, and Teen Vogue's Summer Makeover Party. She has made appearances at landmark Los Angeles hotspots such as: LAX, Republic, Aqua Lounge, Crash Mansion, Boardners, Little Temple Bar, The Avalon, Miyagi's, The Standard, and more. Puffs also began her own monthly party, named 'Karma', which benefitted various community organizations every month, and drew an impressive list of guest DJs. She currently holds a residency at Little Temple Bar in Silverlake on Saturday nights, and at Barcopa in Santa Monica on every third Tuesday of the month. Be on the look out for her new night, 'Harmony', which will take place every first Wednesday of every month at Little Temple Bar beginning in September ‘08.
Always one to give back, Puffs has dedicated her life to building the next generation of music lovers. After graduating from UC Santa Cruz, Puffs became, and is currently, a full-time 8th Grade public schoolteacher. She also finds time to volunteer as the first female teaching assistant at LA's Scratch DJ Academy and is the only female member of the Los Angeles-based DJ crew, the Spinaddicts (www.spinaddicts.com). Puffs' range in music is impressive; her ability to read crowds is keen. DJ Puffs eagerly anticipates new opportunities to get folks moving, and humbly appreciates her chance to grace people with love, soul and simply put—good music.
