Wayne Banks is a bass guitarist from Nottingham, England. Since 2003 Wayne as been a permanent member of Bee Gee Robin Gibb's band performing all over the world-onstage, live t.v and radio. Wayne also performs in his own band 'hoof', with former Rainbow frontman 'Joe Lynn Turner' in guitarist Nikolo Kotzev's 'Brazen Abott' and with german metal band 'Messiahs Kiss'.Wayne performed on Robin Gibb's 2004/5 'Magnet Album World Tour' and worldwide CD/DVD release 'Live in Bonn with the Neue Philarmonie Frankfurt.' The Magnet album world tour concerts took place in Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Japan, China, Hong Kong, Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Phillipines and Germany. Recently Wayne played with Robin Gibb to 15,000 people in Salt Lake City, Utah, to over 200,000 people in an open air gig in St.Petersburg, Russia and at the new Wembley Stadium for the Labour party sports charity event. Guests included Prime Minister Gordon Brown and Sir Alex Ferguson. Wayne has performed with Robin Gibb for many public figures - In Russia, he played for President Putin at the Kremlin, in Thailand he performed for the Queen. He has also played for Tony Blair and other celebrities at the Labour Party Centenary Gala Dinner, for the Dalai Lama at the UNICEF Gala, former President of Poland Lech Walesa and for tennis stars Steffi Graf and Gabrielle Sabatini. In May 2007, Wayne performed with Robin Gibb at the Bunbury Cricket Foundation charity event to an audience including Eric Clapton (talk about pressure!) , Bill Wyman, Martin Johnson, Ian Botham, David Gower, Stephen Fry and Lord Archer.Along with his brother Jason and drummer ploff, wayne's own band 'hoof' can be heard providing the soundtrack for UK extreme sports show RAD. 'hoof' recorded 'a distant sound of hoof beats'- Iron Man Records in 2003 after featuring as 'demo of the month in 'Kerrang' magazine. 'hoof' also have a publishing deal for t.v. library music. Their music has been featured on many t.v. shows throughout the world including ESPN sports and Aussie soap Home and Away. They have recently opened their own studio and are currently working on their next album.Wayne has played on two Brazen Abbott Albums featuring guitarist Nikolo Kotzev and former Rainbow front man Joe Lynn Turner - 'A decade of Brazen Abbott' CD/DVD SPV records 2003 and 'My Resurrection' CD SPV 2005. In July they headlined the 'Berkovica' rock festival in Bulgaria.Wayne has recorded two albums and toured europe with german metal band 'Messiahs Kiss' - 'Metal' SPV 2005 and 'Dragonheart' 2007. Recently they played to 20,000 people as support to Manowar at the 'Magic Circle Festival' in Bad Arolsen, Germany.Previously Wayne has recorded at RAK studios with legendary producer Micky Most (susie quatro, mud etc.) and producer Dave Anderson (fine young cannibals, Big Sur).Wayne has played bass for former Iron Maiden front man Blaze Bayley on his 2005 album release and world tour 'Blood and Belief'.In 2005 Wayne toured with the original AC/DC vocalist Dave Evans supporting his 2005 release 'thunder from down under' Soul Food, Sony.Wayne has also recorded with USA metal band 'Holy Mother' on the 2004 release 'Agoraphobia' SPV records.Wayne began his professional career in 1990 as bass guitarist for iconic british thrash metal band 'sabbat' playing on their 1991 release 'Mourning has broken' Noise records . He then went on to form 'Godsend' with former 'sabbat' band mate Andy Sneap (producer - Megadeth, Kill Swith Engage etc) and recorded their self -titled debut album in 1994, featuring the single 'I see red'- single video featured on MTV. Wayne went on to attain a Batchelor Of Music Degree at the London College of Music and has also written/recorded many string arrangements. Wayne is an official endorsee of Ernie Ball strings and guitars, Gallien Krueger amps and Mackie recording equipment.
