Dave Knight

Dave Knight is a twenty-seven year old English drummer, originally from Buckinghamshire, in the UK. Although he constantly travels around, Dave has recently been based in North West Germany (NRW). Dave has spent the last four years performing with the Bee Gees legend, Robin Gibb, and participated in his Magnet album world tour. Concerts on the tour took place in many countries, including Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Japan, China and Germany, and involved playing to crowds of up to twelve thousand people. In 2004, Dave recorded the Live in Bonn DVD and audio CD with Robin Gibb and the Frankfurt Philharmonic Orchestra, which has been released world-wide.Dave has performed at some prestigious events. He played at Palace Square in St Petersburg to 200,000 people and was the joint headline act with the Scorpions. He also played at the Istanbul Jazz Festival, where other featured artists included Nora Jones, Robert Plant, Bryan Ferry and Randy Crawford. At the Art On Ice spectacular, Dave played for 100,000 speactators over the course of the week. This event was broadcast on SF; the Swiss National TV station and has been released on DVD.Dave has performed for many public figures. In Russia, he played for President Putin at the Kremlin and in Thailand, he performed for the Queen. He has also played for the former Prime Minister Tony Blair and other celebrities at the Labour Party Centenary Gala Dinner. He also had the great pleasure of playing at the new Wembley Stadium for the Labour party Sports Charity Event. Guests at the event included Prime Minister Gordon Brown, Sir Alex Ferguson, John Prescott and Dickie Bird. In May 2007, Dave performed with Robin Gibb at the Bunbury Cricket Foundation charity event to an audience that included Eric Clapton, Bill Wyman, Martin Johnson, Ian Botham, David Gower, Stephen Fry and Lord Archer.Dave has also worked as a session drummer for Blaze Bayley, the former Iron Maiden front man and Dave Evans, the original AC/DC vocalist, touring the club circuit all around Europe. Dave has also appeared on MTV, on Italian radio, and on German national television several times.This summer, Dave took part in the Berkrock Festival in Bulgaria, where he performed with former Deep Purple and Rainbow singer, Joe Lynn Turner. This festival will shortly be available on DVD. Dave has just returned from America, where he played to 10,000 people in Salt Lake City, Utah.Dave’s future plans involve further concerts with Robin Gibb and Brazen Abbot. He is also playing drums and singing backing vocals in the band ’Jimix’ with former ’Scam Luiz’ frontman Jimmy Klimsop, genial guitarist Patrick ’Pats’ Van Der Heoven and synthesizer sensation Matt ’Little Matt’ Jefferies. As well as being a session musician, Dave is a keen songwriter and is currently writing and producing his own material.
