Music in general, bass guitar.
I'm not much of a hero worshipper, but there are a few musicians whom I truly admire:
John Paul Jones (the reason I became a musician), Alan Lancaster, John Arch (the greatest prog vocalist of all time!!!), Scott Reagers, Cliff Burton (R.I.P.), Roger Patterson (R.I.P), Steve Post, Clive Burr, Pete Willis.
All kinds of stuff from classic '70s rock (Led Zeppelin, Free, Deep Purple, Rainbow, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Scorpions, etc.), prog (metal) (Rush, Yes, Fates Warning, Psychotic Waltz, Crimson Glory, Watchtower, etc.) and fusion (Return to Forever, Niacin, early Level 42, etc.) to thrash (Exodus, Forbidden, Dark Angel, Exhorder, Mekong Delta, Nasty Savage, Realm, Toxik, Coroner, Sabbat, Holy Terror, etc.), '80s crossover (Cro-Mags, Crumbsuckers), death metal (Pestilence, Gorefest, Suffocation, Atheist, Cynic), doom (Candlemass, Solitude Aeturnus, Saint Vitus), contemporary metal (Opeth, Lamb of God, God Forbid, The Haunted, etc.).
I'm also into virtuoso bassists like Jaco Pastorious, Stanley Clarke, Billy Sheehan, Mark King, etc.
One of my favourite bands is Imperium, which two of my bandmates were members of in the early '90s. They did one album called 'Too Short a Season' on Mascot Records in 1993, which is a firm favourite of mine. I also recently built a MySpace in their honour at http://www.myspace.com/imperium1993.
Aside from being a music fan, I'm very much into my own playing. I've been playing bass since I was twelve and had three years of classical guitar lessons prior to that.
Sci-fi, fantasy, thrillers, Bruce Lee!!!
I find most television programmes mind-numbing, but having grown up in the UK I still enjoy the classic BBC comedy series from the '70s and '80s, especially anything featuring Ronnie Barker, David Jason or Richard Beckinsale.
Something I really need to get back into, but there just aren't enough hours in the day. On the rare occasions that I do read outside of my work, it's usually music-related material and very rarely fictional.
My parents and grandmother.
