"Listening..." Watercolor by Sarah Collins, c. 2007
"As he gazed upon the strings of the guitar, he listened... Slowly it began to speak to him. And he heard such sweet melodies floating through the air. Like an ancient song, patiently awaiting a listening ear, it opened up his heart, which opened up his soul. The language of the universe was alive and well again as it always had been. He had just been feeling the wound of the world. Now it was time to feel the healing of the world; for this is what the universe wanted." ---Sarah Collins 1/12/07--------------"Somewhere Between Planets..." Watercolor by Sarah Collins c. 2007

I like to be in nature. Nature is our best teacher. It is our essence and where we come from as well as to where we return. I'm also an artist, as we all are in our own way. I like to "travel" in a vehicle of expression that can truly convey my thoughts and feelings in more dimensions than just words. Sometimes this is through drawing or painting. Othertimes I play music. Othertimes dance, and every now and then I play with a little bit of fire... I love to inspire others into their own unique potential, for it is only the mind that holds us back. The key is to unlock the mind... I also practice and teach yoga, as well as give massage and bodywork...........................................

My Interests

TEXT Anything truly inspired from the heart and soul... I love creating art, making music, firedancing, dancing, yoga, adventures, hiking, the ocean, travelling, and trying new things...

I'd like to meet:

I'd like to meet other creative beings, (we are all creative :)), with a common vision of creating positive social change in the world and those who wish to help heal the environment of this precious earth... as well as long lost friends and new friends... also those who want to connect about collaborating on group art shows, involving musicians, and other performers, especially those who are interested in doing this in the sf bay area, (but definitely open to other places as well). I'm also looking for dancers, musicians, and film makers who wish to be part of a multi-media dance performance.

Movies:

My favorite movie of all has got to be Baraka. For it really shows a true perspective on what's happening on the planet, and what needs to be valued. I also like "Whisper of the Heart," a great japanimation about following your dreams, digging deep, and polishing the gems that you find inside.TEXT

Books:

TEXT Wyvern by A. A. Atonasio has been a favorite, as far as fiction goes, for a while... These days I find myself reading yogic philosophy books and books about the inherent spirituality of life. Richard Bach is one of my favorite authors. Books that have the power to change one's life I gravitate towards such as Way of the Peaceful Warrior by Dan Millman. Sometimes for fun, I'll read a children's novel. Now I'm reading Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. These kind of books inspire me as I aspire to write and illustrate children's books... ... I also really like most books by Paulo Coelho, such as The Alchemist, The Pilgrimage, and I Sat Down by the River Piedra and Cried.

Heroes:

Gandi and Julia Butterfly are two... Michael Franti is another... Thoreau... people who have enough backbone to stand up for what they believe in. Another hero is my grandmother, for her beautiful spirit, unconditional love, and integrity as a person.TEXT

A Few Words on transformation from Alice In Wonderland... by Lewis Carol

"Who are you?" said the Caterpillar. This was not an encouraging opening for a conversation. Alice replied, rather shyly, "I - I hardly know, Sir, just at present- at least I know who I was when I g...
