My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Chilled out people, who know how to have a laugh.(JUST A NOTE TO EVERYONE, I'M OK WILL BE BACK ON THE INTERNET VERY SOON, IM MISSING U ALL!)LOVE FROM MELISSA

Music:

I absolutely love to dance, I taught myself, when I was in Canada b4 I immigrated over to the UK. I used to watch MTV all the time. Instead of Top of the pops I used watch Dance Energy, Big Up 2 Mr Normski! I really loved the show as the audience danced, tunes were what I was into back then, and I imitated their moves. And add my style into it. Great fun trying! Lol.

I became an exhibitionist when I started the club scene at 18; my dancing skills won a lot of peoples respect for a short amount of time.

I got introduced to the rave scene by a few mates, early 90’s. Jungle, Drum n Bass became my favourite genre.

The Crest, Arcadia, July or Aug 1993, the most gorgeous female walked up to me, wanted to talk to me, she managed to prise me away from my hyped up dancing I couldn’t keep still! She complimented on my dancing, told me that she is the manager of the Jungle, Drum & Bass nights. She was so impressed with my dancing so much so that I got offered a job to dance on stage at the crest, I took it with out hesitation. Free entry! My dream came true!

I went to another club after the crest, in Sittingbourne, called Legends, different scene from The Crest. The club location back then was kind of intimidating, small, bouncer’s size of brick house, and crowd was gang like types. Thank f**k for my dancing abilities, I was respected! Even the bouncers were amazed! Few Djs bought me water, one MC was rapping to me! Making me centre of attention, lol! This is utter bullshit,

God I miss those times! I was never short of offers from people, inviting me after the event finished, to other Drum n Bass, Jungle clubs, house parties, beach parties. People found my dancing quite entertaining.

I went to a World dance event which I can’t remember the event or date lol. Couldn’t even stay in the hanger for very long, vibrations were so intense it had made me sick each time I stepped inside. So I had to dance outside! Shouldn’t have had an lsd tab! Lol! Learnt my lesson! The one I remember so well 30/07/94, Midsummer Dance Party, Lydd Airport, It was the 2nd time that I had been to a World Dance event. Amazing sound system!! I could feel the bass actually rumbling through my chest. So much so I found it bearable this time! And I really showed my talent. And I know why! MC GQ to me is the best MC ever! When he took a break he went up to a girl who I was dancing with, she introduced us. I was in awe. He’s handsome and has such a great talent. I wore a yellow florescent sleeveless jacket with a drawn on design on the back, (long tunnel with a guy standing above tunnel with arms outstretched like in the obsession flyers). Little white top, red bandana, shorts, and white gloves. (I always took 3 changes of clothes to The Crest Events) Too much hassle to do the same for World Dance.

Proper old skool raver, lol! Anyone remember me??? Be surprised if ya did….

That was the best rave I have ever been to – BELIEVE!! 3rd time wasn’t as good as the 2nd time.

My favourite Djs are Hype, Rat Pack, Roni Size, Slipmatt, Mickey Finn, Swan E, Kenny Ken, Devious D, Grooverider, Andy C. many more….

Dj Hype RULES!!!I have flashbacks occasionally if I hear tunes I heard back then. Found more old jungle tunes the other day, it’s changed so much!

What amazes people more is that being born tone deaf, both ears, I wear digital hearing aids to hear, I rely on lips. I can hear and feel the music without aids in better than I can with aids in, as the noise levels most raves use, make your bones vibrate! In the inimitable words of MC GQ, “World Dance Inflate Your Chest”!!!!Lol! Love it! I’m quite a good copy-cat when I see someone dancing and I am not afraid to stand next to them and join in. I live for music and dancing, I can express me self more with dancing. White gloves the works!I so much miss those times I had back in them times, nowadays the club scene isn’t what it used to be. Music has gone shit where I live the club scene is the cats arse, if I had a car I’d start club scene again but with better clubs. So appreciative 2 have come across Myspace site last year, as all my favourite djs are here, I can listen to the wonderful mixes they’ve produced.

Out of all of the djs I have to say Hype takes the No.1 place in my favourites and always will.
