THE 1953 CLASSIC TV EPISODE, PANIC IN THE SKY. WRITTEN BY JACKSON GILLIS, IT'S CONSIDERED BY FANS TO BE THE BEST SUPERMAN EPISODE EVER MADE.A RARE SHOT OF GEORGE DRESSED IN HIS JUDO OUTFIT, TAKEN AT HIS HOME, IN THE BACKYARD.GEORGE REEVES KELLOGG'S COMMERCIAL AT HOME!!!CRASHING THRU THE WINDOW TO SAVE CYRIL DELEVANTI FROM MAKING A SHOCKING MISTAKE. GEORGE'S ATHLETICISM WAS ON DISPLAY IN 1956S "THE MAN WHO CAN MAKE DREAMS COME TRUE" EPISODE.GEORGE LOVED CRASHING THRU THINGS, AND IFILM PROVIDE'S US WITH EXAMPLES OF IT.When George announced that he would no longer fly by means of wires, special effects genius Thol (aka “Siâ€) Simonson invented the flying pan illustrated below. George would lay on the pan and his costume would be pulled on over his body and the pan. A pole that came in between George’s legs was attached to the pan. Essentially a giant lever, a crewman offscreen could move his end of the pole and thereby make George appear to dip, bank and roll. If you look closely at the standard flying scene below, you can actually see the “leg†of the flying pan underneath George’s costume, as indicated by the arrow. The flying pan is now on display in the Superman Museum in Metropolis, IL, hanging by wires from the ceiling.
HEY GEORGE, THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES!!!A GEORGE REEVES TRIBUTE!!!
