There is an easy way to meet the growing need for donations of new children's books. Underfunded public and school libraries are often in dire need of community support in getting new library-quality books for circulation. Organizations such as schools, hospitals, literacy programs, childcare centers, shelters and more use the internet as a way to post their wish lists for donations.
Our Mission:
We will provide access to quality, non-commercialized books and educational materials in English and Spanish to any organization that will benefit from in-kind donations of new children's books. Additionally, we will facilitate the sponsorship of book fairs by organizations seeking to promote literacy in their communities. The Online Book Fair was developed with the following statements in mind:
- Children need quality, educational books and literacy is one of the most important skills a person can learn In general, people like making in-kind donations (non-monetary) because they know how their money was spent Many companies would like to give back to the community in the form of a fundraiser but are intimidated by the administrative work involved with organizing major fundraisers Fundraisers that allow people to purchase items for personal use while providing a worthy cause with a percentage of their purchase are popular
Better than a Book Drive!
Our program is different than a book drive because hundreds of pounds of books are shipped for FREE right to the beneficiary's front door and participants have two options:
Buy books directly for the organization. No shipping is charged and an additional 50% in FREE BOOKS goes to the organization.
Buy books for personal use and 50% of any purchase goes to the organization in FREE BOOKS.
This is made possible by the outstanding book fair program offered by Usborne Books, a leading publisher of educational books. With more than 1,400 titles, many with optional library binding available, there are many choices to stock the shelves of a library for babies up to adults.
