People who support autonomous spaces like this one; people who support putting power into the commuity, Raza community at large, and recognize Culture as a valuble step towards this and also as a step towards resistance of our white-washing schools / society.
EL CENTRO has been a valuable DIY location for countless Punk Shows, HIP HOP, SON JAROCHO, CUMBIA, giving ground to the underground scene from local bands to international bands.

EL CENTRO also has its own SON JAROCHO GROUP. following is a description:
Son del Centro is a group of companeros and camaradas who are students, musicians, activists, dancers, friends and organizers from various parts of Santa Ana, California.
The group was formed to create a space for youth to explore their traditions, creativity and consciousness, through son jarocho music. Inspired by the Jarocho groups from Mexico brought to Southern California by El Centro, this group of youth began attending son jarocho classes about two years ago, and fell in love with the music.
Soon they began performing at different events throughout Orange County.
