Get off your lazy ass and play some music...

About Me

Born and raised in various towns of Texas, mostly Paris. Traveled around the states with music in my head. Learned to speak French. Went to New Orleans for Jazz Fest, got distracted and stayed for six years. Since the Flood I've been trotting around Europe, artist modeling, meeting people, and singing songs. These days, I'm an unofficial Amsterdammer and resident model of Eddy Roos whose amazing work and passion and wisdom of emotional expression will continue to nourish my musical spirit through this leg of the "Big Tour" ...a.k.a. life(?) ....scratching at the door of the musicians circuit. taking my time. learning Dutch. getting inspired. writing lyrics. enjoying my blessings................................................... ............................................................ ......Rendition of The Legend of John Henry

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: So far just lake and her trusty red alverez..occasionally, however, a little angel like Mick De Neeve or Luke Nyman(OR BOTH!) happens to be in the audience and will flutter to the stage on a dime to bless her songs with his sweet harmonies. I think we're on to something here guys....On the two recordings that you hear here:By some stroke of luck, I was able to slide in on Erik's own recording session and have an unrehearsed quickie with these guys--Sandip Bhattacharya (India) - tabla Mousse Pathe M'Baye (Senegal) - djembe ,talking drum Sven Schuster - contrabass Erik Huele - pianoBottom Line-A'dam is crawling with amazing musicians and I'm happy as pie to meet another one each and every day.
Influences: My influences are the those who inspired me to sing along and eventually pick up a guitar and take it wherever I go. It's only natural to keep their songs in my repetoire because before I discovered the sounds of the legendary Nina Simone, of Odetta, Billie Holiday, Miriam Makeba, and the countless old blues mammas that have kicked vocal ass in the past 100 years(perhaps I'll count them at a later date), I can truely say that I did not know music. It's kinda like a praise and worship when I sing Nina's songs...a "Thank you"..a promiss that so long as I have a voice, you'll never die... I continue to be inspired and influenced everyday by the dead and the living all over the world. To list them all would be a task too daunting for this lazy musician....
Sounds Like: whatever you're thinking at the moment

Mombasa Again

It's great to be back. I was greeted with an entourage of old buds at the Bubbles Bar. I jumped off the Matatu--I spilled out, rather, as they pack those machines like ugali!! I let out a big happy "Y...
