This site was not made by a NGO or something like that. I’m a regular guy, who’s blessed to live in a wealthy country in Europe. Growing up with two different cultures (Filipino & Swiss culture), gave me the chance to see two completely different worlds.
I think most of the people, in a country with a high level of living are not brining to mind that having food on the table is something special. Those people are often shocked, when they see how worst the conditions are in a 3 rd world country.

The poverty in the Philippines is a big problem. Up to 40% of the population are living today under the poverty border. Every big city has expanded slums.
Manila has approx. 60’000 homeless kids, who are often one’s own. For many young girls prostitution is the only way to earn money. Other Kids earn their money by cleaning cars, shoes or collecting garbage. Frequently they have to give a part of their earnings to a middleman or pay gangs protection money.
There are many causes for the poverty
in the Philippines, but one of the big problems is the dramatic explosion of population.
