THE roots of Tumbao Riddim Band dates back to 2004, when Tumbao (www.tumbao.art.pl) suspended it's activity, due to long term departure of their vocalist to UK. Musicians (Piotr "Zwierz" Stanclik - bass guitar; Marek"Siekierka"- Sieroszewski drums; Tomek "Ksiezyc" Ksiezopolski - lead guitar; Wojtek"WooCheck" Luczkiewicz- keyboards) did not even think one minute about stop playing, as they were enjoying development of their reggae skills together since 1997. This was actually the trigger to think "out of the box" and launch the idea of riddim band and continue the great adventure with reggae music!
It didn't take much time for first effects. TRB played their first concert already after few weeks later and on their first gig they've invited the whole cream
of Polish reggae & dancehall MCs: Ras Luta, Grizzlee, Bob One, Da Bass, Frenchman, Lady Marika, Pan Duze P. Since that moment it was clear
to the band, that this is a good direction to go. Original musicians from Tumbao has been supported by additional keyboardist Radek "EMZK" Ciurko
(from well known polish reggae band called Bakshish being 20 years
on the stage) and Jedrek"ASIA" Kuziela, who has brought great ethnic tone
of tabla instrument after spending one year of training in Bombay. Once having a strong crew of instrumentalists, musicians asked for co-operation two, young and talented reggae vocalists Ras Luta and Grizzlee, who sing together with TRB since that time, simultaneously creating one of the most popular polish sound systems called East West Rockers.
TRB plays a lot of gigs all over Poland taking a part in big festivals as well as club events. It's worth to mention, that the band has in their portfolio supporting on one stage such reggae groups as Misty in Roots, Steel Pulse, Dub Syndicate, Chumbawamba, Gentelman etc.
One of the mile stones in TRB carrier was recently played at the One Love Festival in Poland, when they were performing as a riddim band together with Yah Meek and Marlene Johnson. This was a great honour and pleasure
for the group. TRB is developing and constantly improving their music skills
in order to allow them in the future to play as a riddim band with the greatest reggae stars in the world!
