Matieu

Born on 15th Dec 76 at Mons in Belgium, Mathieu Jacobeus Aka MATIEU is a music lover since then.
Adept of electronic music, MATIEU started with 1 year of pure ´Belgium Trance´ (Bonzaï, At the villa, Mackenzie..). He then had his first «turn around» by moving on to Techno and Electro when he went to KOZZMOZZ (ICC.Gent.1997) launching GREEN VELVET´s book and an amazing DJ set from CLAUDE YOUNG..
The following week, MATIEU went straight to the records shop and bought his first 2 records « Forklift » from JOEY BELTRAM, a remix from LUKE SLATER and « Destination Unknown » from GREEN VELVET on Music Man.
A year later, he started his first sets in trendy bars in Mons at the The ONE-EYED JACK and l..ILOT.
With time, he discovered funk & disco and his sets started to be much more melodic!
His 2nd «turn around» happened when he played at the FOOD@Foolmoon listening to DJ Geoffroy. MATIEU moved into House with some Techno influences. After 6 months of promotion, he was invited as Guest DJ in a club from Brussels .. The HOUSE Of GROOVE and became resident in 2001
From then, MATIEU started his career as a professional DJ by becoming resident at the LOUNGE CLUB and spent 2 years with the best Belgium DJs and International faces. He also played sets for the FOOD, a famous & trendy bar at the time!
In 2003, he left the LOUNGE CLUB and started to play around trendy places in Brussels: PABLO DISCO Bar, Le Dali..s Bar, Le GMT, Le Zen Bar..
In 2004, MATIEU launched his own parties « GetDownTonight! », the first event was a real success, with leitmotiv convivial night and excellent music!
In 2005, he met Laurent Acoustix and then started a great partnership. Together, they created the « DUO DELUXE » and continued to develop the concept « GetDownTonight! ». These events ended successfully in June 2006 for new projects.
MATIEU & ACOUSTIX are now launching a new concept called TRAFIK. An partnership with GYL & SAMY (COSMOPOLITAN) from Brussels and the TWINS CONNECTION from France.
MATIEU has also developed his International network and today, he is showing up in Germany and every quarter in Switzerland at « LA RUCHE » (Lausanne).
