DoubleXL is born in Berlin and grew up in the borough Neukölln
in the south of the city. His musical career began in 1996 with the
purchase of two turntables and a mixer. With the evalution of his skills
followed an invitation to join the rap group Flexibler Reimgenuss. Together
with the group he performed several gigs at clubs and jams in Berlin.
Simultaneously he started djing in some of the most important hiphop clubs
of the city. Through the work wit FRG he also connected with the emcees
Knightstalker & Whizkid and started doing the cuts for both of them. In the
beginning of 2005 he grabbed a pen and started writing his own tracks which
he started recording soon after in the recordingstudio of the
Aufnahmezustand.
DoubleXL ist gebürtiger Berliner und aufgewachsen im Bezirk Neukölln
im Süden der Stadt. Sein musikalischer Weg begann 1996 mit der Anschaffung von Plattenspielern und Mixer. Mit dem Ausbau der Skillz an
den 1210ern und der erlangten Routine wurde er zu einem festen Mitglied der
Rap Gruppe Flexibler Reimgenuss. Es folgten mit eben dieser Combo die ersten Auftritte in berliner Clubs und auf Jams. Nebenbei legte DoubleXL in
mehreren berliner Clubs auf. Gleichzeitig zur Zusammenarbeit mit FRG
entstand der Kontakt zu den MCs Knightstalker & Whizkid, die er von nun an
mit Cuts versorgte. Anfang 2005 tauschte er dann die Plattenspieler gegen
Stift und Mikro und begann die ersten Texte zu schreiben, die er dann im
Aufnahmezustandstudio von BenJammin recordete.
