About Me

I'm based in Finland, working for my own company called Paha Juuso Agency . I'm working in the field of booking agency and artist management. I'm specialized in folk/worldmusic, contemporary jazz and rhythm/roots music. Some of my artists include Dalindèo , Tuomo , Värttinä , Marko Haavisto & Poutahaukat and Markku Lepistö & Co . I'm working worldwide and I'm constantly looking for partners in new territories to work as local agencies for my artist.

I also import foreign artists in Finland/Scandinavia. I work as Scandinavian agent for e.g. Spanish bagpipe phenomenon Hevia and Dutch Leonard Cohen tribute The Avalanche Quartet .

Before starting this business I worked a long time as a sound engineer doing both live and studio stuff. My homebase was Seawolf Studios in Helsinki, Suomenlinna fortress. Some of the most unforgetable sessions were Hanoi Rocks : 12 shots on the rocks, Hidria Spacefolk : Symbiosis, Wigwam : Titans wheel, Michael Monroe: Whatcha want?, V/A: Takorautaa & Jalometallia.

I have a musician history too, but I'd rather not talk about it that much. I'm not good at any instrument, but I'm ok or a bit better than poor in many.

I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4 and with MySpace Codes

Here's another great clip by Tuomo . This one's from The Funk Awards in Helsinki.

Värttinä are the most succesful Finnish folk band celebrating their 25th Anniversary in 2008. Here's a clip of "Nahkaruoska", "Leather whip" that is.

Marko Haavisto & Poutahaukat are best know for their contribution in Aki Kaurismäki's movies. Here's a clip from "The Man without a past", song "Paha vaanii".

Dalindèo is a contemporary dancefloorjazz sextet playing fresh dancable tunes with some Brazilian twist. Here a clip of "Samba Da Li".

Music:

I've always listened to almost any kinda music. Partly because of my profession in a studio I felt I'm obligated to listen to any music. Still a few corners stones in my life should be mentioned here:

- Mikko Alatalo

He's a man who is now in Finnish parliament. He used to do a lot of music in 70s and 80s. I don't know if his songs and image was ment to be as funny as it was. I think his stuff he made in the 70s made more sence than latter productions. Anyways, I was a huge fan around the age of 4.

- Elvis

The king hit me big time at the age of 7 or 8. I kind of lost it some time in the middle and became even a bigger fan on 21st century. 50s stuff is something I don't like that much, but everything done after '68 comeback special are knock-outs!

- Queen

These UK rockers affected my taste and sence of music greatly. Found them right after Freddie's death in 1991. I was 13 years old. I became a huge fan and I own all the records and some rare crazy items too.

- Soul music in general

My first experience was Blues Brothers sometime around late 80s. I know it's not really soul music but it hit me and made me anxious to know more. I started to listen to all kinds of soul. Mostly from 60s, maybe early 70s but definitelly not newer stuff until recently. My all-time favourites are all Atlantic Records and Stax stuff, Aretha, Eddie Floyd, Bar Kays, Otis etc. Of course some Motown guys and girls too like Stevie Wonder, (mostly early) Marvin Gaye and Jackson 5. Dusty Springfield I think was the best UK had to offer that time. James Brown of course. He also gave birth to numerous spin-offs I dig really much, like Vicky Andersson, Lyn Collins, The J.B.s and Maceo Parker's bands.

Movies:

Pulp Fiction, From Dusk Till Dawn, Reservoir Dogs, Kill Bills - basically anything Tarantino does. James Bond -movies. I have them all. Seen them all 1000 times. Memorized them all.. Later era of mob films.

Television:

Books:

I'm not really a book enthusiastic but I like to read biographies and that sort of stuff. So fact rather than fiction. Lately I've been reading biographies of Elvis, Kiss and Johnny Cash.

Heroes:

Stevie Wonder, Robert de Niro, Al Pacino, Harrison Ford, Brian May, Sean Connery, Roger Moore, Brian Setzer, Tarantino, Harvey Keitel, John Travolta, Rocco Prestia, Bill Gates, Steven Spielberg, Bruce Willis, Dr. Phil, Dalai Lama.
