I am Valtteri Pöyhönen, a finnish composer, musician, arranger and producer. I am originally from Helsinki, but i've lived longer periods of my life in Paris, London and Rotterdam.
Guitar is my first instrument but I also play piano and mostly write my music on the piano. My artistic interests span not only to music but to art and drama in general and I get a lot of inspiration from cinema, theatre and spatial art.
My current main project is jazz-sextet Dalindèo for which i am the composer, leader and producer. Dalindèo has a new album called "Soundtrack for the sound Eye" coming out in November 2009 and i've just finished working on that. Three tunes from the album are released as "Vintage Voyage"-ep in May 2009, one of them featuring the great voice of Berlin-based singer/spoken word artist Bajka.
Currently i am living in Berlin to compose music for my next creation which will be executed in spring 2010. I have formed a big band carrying the name of our record label Ricky-Tick Records. The band consists of top young Finnish jazz musicians, many of them already recording artists for the label.
