Paganism, environmental issues, crafts (currently including crochet, dress making, cross stitch, card making), reading (lots!) surfing the net, learning, laughing. I want to learn lots as well, including .... making my own paper and paper beads, stuff about papier mache, making jewellry, beading and how to sew better. And better crochet!Oh .... going to this at the end of the month!!
Lovely people who enjoy life with love, laughter, song and giggles. Particularly like to meet other like minded people - including pagans, druids, witches and heathens across the UK with a wry sense of humour. And people who like music. And maybe stuff to do with wool and other yarn. Yeah.
Errrrr .... Paul Mitchell (satirical Pagan folk singer), Rob Chapman (local pagan folk and miscellenous sounds musician including some fabulous pagan punk!), Dahm the Bard, The Smiths, Ian Dury and the Blockheads, The Arctic Monkeys are current faves - also like The Cure, Siouxsie and the Banshees and various other stuff that comes through my radar and makes me go 'I like that'! - also forgot about All About Eve, Echo and the Bunnymen - found the records (remember them??) and played them recently - fab! Also ... Scissor Sisters, Amy Winehouse and other stuff that's escaped from my sievelike brain while I was thinking about it!!
Chocolat, My Beautiful Launderette, The Wicker Man, pretty much any Tim Burton film and anything with Wallace and Grommit because they're funny! I also enjoyed the old John Hughes teen movies of the 80s like Pretty In Pink and the Breakfast Club. Oddly combining with this, I do quite like schlock horror bloodfests at times like Nightmare on Elmstreet and the ilk, and pretty much anything with vampires in it. And Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon - love that film! And pretty much anything of the Elizabethan period because it's pretty!!
Doctor Who! Torchwood, programmes like Coast and wildlife/nature programmes. Buffy. Charmed because it's funny (though WHY did it have to end soooo happily ever after??), Life on Mars, Shameless, some history programmes
Manda Scott's Boudica books are fab. Also love Terry Pratchett - particularly the Tiffany Aching books and anything with the witches in it, Joanne Harris (who wrote Chocolat) and collect Colette books (I think I've got most of them. I'm starting to get into reading Phil Rickman at the moment - especially the Merrily Watkins investigating ones. I enjoy books by Emma Restall Orr (Bobcat) and Poppy Palin (though I've only read one of hers so far). I love the way that Ronald Hutton writes his books but the print is soooo small!! Also got a few crochet books - the Stitch n Bitch Happy Hooker is looking good!
Hmmm might need to think about this one, but for picture perfection I'd say Johnny Depp. Oh and Eddie Izzard. And Billy Connolly. Female heroes - so far ... my lovely female friends, I love Emma Restall Orr because she's so inspirational, Kate Bush for being fae and my former neighbour Karen for her courage and ability with a power tool! All my lovely wonderful giggly Grovelette friends both male and female, and inspirating members of the Earthworks Community. And Thomas Daffern who has been one of the people who's inspired me to study humanities to degree level!
