I began playing drums around 12 years of age and was in my first band by 14. In 1990 I started playing percussion/drums at my church which fortunately gave me opportunities like playing with big bands, small groups, touring(nationally & internationally),recording, general jamming, drama productions, reading, improvising & playing to consistent crowds of 2000 + every weekend. All this plus a whole lot of hard practice lead onto my first proud recording where I shared the drumming chair on the the Youth Alive album “Fire it Upâ€,which stayed at number 1 on the Aus. Gospel charts for months amongst backing up other gospel artists such as Darlene Czech & Ron Kenoly.
In 1997 I went to the Adelaide conservatorium for Jazz studies and a year later moved on to freelance full time with sometimes up to 3 & 4 gigs a day and being in up to 6 bands at once. From this time until present, I have ripped the guts out of a lot of musical styles not only to be a working drummer but also because of my love for playing music.
In 2001 I went overseas for approx. 14 months and toured with several cover bands 6 nights a week around lots of Asia & parts of the Middle East. I returned in 2003 and have been based here since, where I continue to free lance. My current band is the Zep Boys which has giving me the chance to fulfill another one my dreams of playing with symphony orchestras(C’mon Kashmir).
